About the Project
This is a work in progress. After finally cracking and breaking back into Necromunda. I went with the choice to start a Van Saar gang, having fallen in love with the new models. I used to run a Delaque gang back in the day, along with having many minis from other gangs. I never liked the old Van Saar models, but these new ones are sublime. As my friends who play have all gone with themed gangs, it seemed only right to follow suit. I toyed with different ideas and then felt I wanted a gang that stood out differently, but at the same time was an easy scheme to paint. The easy to paint bit was an oversight, but, the main colour is just black, so swings and roundabouts. I have got the basic colours down as I rushed to have them table top ready for my first game (Smashed it with a glorious win). This project will cover the next bits as I progress with the details, neatening up the lines and giving them faces. I will add further pictures to the project upon Forgeworld releasing new bits of kit for Van Saar. Hopefully just one look at my models gives indication as to where the inspiration came from, if the gang name/title hadn't already given it away. I decided on the icon imagery from Tron (Mainly T.Legacy rather than original). Perfect SciFi outfits and it works well with the models, adding to their already futuristic look. Very happy with the basic scheme I've got down. Plan is to have more champions in the red suits to help models stand out on the table. The gang are also named after the main characters, but as I add more models, models like Juves will be named after 80's video games like; DigDug and Qubert. I hope to finish the main group in a months time. I only get 4 to 5 days of painting time a month now and currently Im consumed by Blood and Plunder, but I hope to keep chipping at Tron Saar and adding more images to this project until it is Complete. I hope my theme helps inspire others with their gang ideas.
