Putting some paint down

To begin to develop the troops i shaded all the miniatures with a watered down Oak Brown from Army Painter. This is a lovely rich brown and really contrasted well with theleather brown. I am colour blind with a red green deficiency so have to do a lot of work based on paint names rather than knowing the colours themselves – perhaps a brown and green army was a bad idea!

I went back and added a second shading of athonian camoshade (Citadel) to the 3 characters (Nymph, Branchwhytch and Treelord) to amke them stand out from the crowd.

once the shading was dry I dry-brushed the figures with a variety of browns from all kinds of paint series to put some diversity into my troops. I’m planning on giving them some more variance as I progress but am still thinking about how at this point.
