About the Project

Rats! Glorious Rats! One of the most characterful and fun armies in Age of Sigmar. This is my ongoing work creating a Clan Verminus army - basically a swarm of rats all looking for a good fight.

I’ve just finished 2 days at Southcon (possibly the southernmost wargame tournament in the world!). We had 12 great players and a wide range of armies and tables. We had an absolute blast, and I came back with a surprise haul…

Needless to say I’m pretty happy with this! My painting entry was my Grey Seer, which is such a fun miniature to paint.

Below are a few photos from the games. We were playing 1000pt Vanguard scenarios, with terrain rules (you really should play those rules, they add a lot) on 4’x4′ tables. I ended up with a 2-3 record and had the chance to play against some new players and the eventual champion – and I have to say Age of Sigmar players as a whole are pretty awesome.

Tournament time this weekend, and while I won’t have the army finished there’s a reasonable amount of paint on everything. But there was something missing…

So I’ve added grass, tufts and leaves for a bit of an autumn feel. There’s a little yellow flock in there too to reinforce the autumn colours. The leaves are (I believe) from a birch tree.

Fluff! Er, um, Lore!

I’m not sure they like it to be called “Fluff” these days, but I’ve been thinking a bit about what motivates my army to fight and where they came from. Don’t expect any Pulitzer-winning material here, but it’s nice to have a sense of the army having a purpose and being a living, breathing thing (apologies to any Death players 😀 )

Anyway, as part of my preparation for a tournament next week, I bring you the story of ‘Arry ‘Ardnutt and the Defenders of the Horny Rat, feel free to offer any thoughts / criticism!
