Come and take a look at some more of the awesome painting from our Hobby & Painting Forum. We have loads of awesome stuff to dive into so let's take a peek.

As always make sure to share your own work with us and join us for our Hobby Hangout on Wednesdays. We love seeing your work!

Perseus by 144artist

We start things off with a model that isn't quite finished but I still wanted to show it off because of the way we tweak and change things. Here we have Perseus by 144artist.

Perseus #1 by 144artist

The model is looking great here even now with some simple base coating and highlighting. However, the big focal point of the model is the shield on the back of the model which, of course, has to be done like a mirror.

Persus (Shield) by 144artist

Here you can see that the beginnings of the mirror shield here but as 144artist has said, he did want to learn more about creating NMM looks and of course working on both Earth/Sky looks. Thankfully he dived back into our 3 Colour Up tutorials and found some bits and bobs to help. So, this is the result.

I think this is looking superb and shows off a wonderful scene. The shining light at the top of the shield where the sun sits really sets the scene and creates a wonderful sheen on the overall surface. You can go and take a look at the model in more detail here and follow along to see if the complete piece. Very nice indeed.

Wasteland Duel by krautwerk

Next up we have a diorama from krautwerk which shows off a classic struggle between mutant and man in Wasteland Duel.

Wasteland Duel by krautwerk

The gunslinger that you see there on the right of the diorama is a kitbashed and looks awesome. Modelled after Charles Bronson you get a fantastic looking model with pistol drawn, hoping to bring down his foe as it advances upon him. The big mutant creature is from Brother Vinni.

The painting across the diorama is looking awesome and shows off some great work which builds up the pieces as something more artistic than simply for the tabletop. The larger brute does look a little cleaner perhaps compared to the others in the scene but otherwise, this looks like a great snapshot in time.

6mm American Civil War Armies by neves1789

Last but not least we turn to some more 6mm painting by neves1789 who is working with oriskany right now on our Great War article series. Here is his work on some amazing 6mm American Civil War armies.

6mm American Civil War #1 by neves1789

He has gone into detail about how to paint 6mm figures and talks about some of the techniques. For example, he explains "The trick (and fun) of painting 6mm is mounting everything on painting sticks and systematically repeating the same brush strokes" and talks about how the models are actually more relaxing to paint than those of larger scales.

Both of the armies above are looking great and there are some more photos over on the link above showing off the armies in their entirety. Washes are your friend here as well and it seems like faces and hands are simply done with a dot of paint! I actually think this sounds like a really fun way of changing things up when it comes to your hobby.
