Exclusive Godtear Champion Reveal + Prepare For Kickstarter On April 6th!
April 3, 2018 by brennon
Steamforged Games has moved things into gear to get Godtear, their new Fantasy miniatures game, onto Kickstarter this week on April 6th. However, before we get into details on that we have an exclusive for you!
Titus The Dishonoured
Here's a bit more about this new Champion for Godtear...
"Once proud general of the VI Legion, Titus and his warriors are banished in disgrace, left to roam only as exiles and no longer admitted within the borders of the Sanguine Princes. Their only crime was fellowship and respect in the face of recklessness; yet Titus’ decision to honour the lives of his men still earned him death in the gladiatorial arena, surrounded by the baying crowds.
But Titus would not fall that fateful day. Every opponent sent was bloodied and felled. Terrifying and monstrous creatures were unleashed, but still, none overcame him. As the sun fell from the skies Titus remained resolute, the name of his legion cheered by a thousand voices. For his crimes, he still was made an outcast. But his name is that of a hero, spoken in hushed whispers - and one day it is hoped among the people he shall return to claim not only his own redemption but also that of his disbanded legion."
We reckon this fellow is looking rather awesome and could well be one of the favourites for backers of the campaign! The heavily armoured look is very cool indeed and the way that helm has been designed is rather spiffing indeed!
Are You Joining In On Kickstarter?
You can see the teaser trailer for the project up above this news piece, giving you a hint as to some of the background for this game.
I'm sure we're going to know a lot more about it in the weeks to come and I expect to see this Kickstarter project push through its stretch goals like a hot knife through butter.
As with many campaigns out there, they also have some additional rewards for those who back the campaign within the first few days. You can see some of the previews from the Youtube video below.
Free stuff is always welcome, even if you're just planning on dipping your toe into this project. There's plenty of awesome stuff on the way for this game and you can still download the rules HERE and give the game a go.
If you got your hands on your early access copy of the miniatures/game then you will no doubt have been feeding back to the community about what you'd tweak?
Will you be backing?

I was very impressed with the Godtear metal minis . It’ll be interesting to see what the plastics look like.
This trailer felt like I was watching a Massive Attack music video.
Damn. I want to own the blue things!
They are the first Godtear ‘gang’ I completely like. I also like Titus.
Why are steamforged using Kickstarter again? First they use Indiegogo for the updated butcher’s and fish teams and now this. Feels like steamforged aren’t willing to risk their own money on any of these projects
Plastic teams as an exception steamforged generally only fund the initial set up of a game via crowd funding, there are far worse culprits and they are still a young and small company. All expansions to guildball have been direct to retail.
Plastic teams were sensible risk mitigation as there was not gauranteed sales. They timed and managed it in a clunky way.
On the fence on this one, 0.7 was a marked improvement on the core mechanics for me. However, I still think there are questions and doubts it doesn’t feel as well developed as guildbsll was when it hit kickstarter. It it is probably the least convinced I have been with regard to mechanics of any steamforged. On the otherhand the retail starter will probably be a double up on my metals, so if I go in ks would be best. Plus the initial and recent rules show potential. We are also now one away from the 12 champions I think… Read more »
Bit more playtesting and I am edging towards backing, still feel the game needs a lot of work.
OooOoo smexy elves. I’m in
You can get treatment for your condition. You don’t need to suffer any longer. 😛
Hmmm… Kickstarter and PVC plastic. Two of my turn offs :/
Fantastic looking figure’s.
