Forge World lead the way with their Legio Custodes Shield Captain which is now available on their webstore.

He is a very commanding figure, decked out in his ornate power armour. I'm not sure on the head design myself but it actually looks better in the unpainted version...
A rather special miniature, and if you're looking to add a point of difference between your force and others who are collecting similar armies then this would be a good shout. I actually think delving into the bitz box might be in order for some of the Legio Custodes too to give them a dose of additional character.

A great looking figure may work as a chief Librarian or a marine captain with a weapons change.
While un-doubtfully good sculpt it’s still just another Custodes character but from FW.
Strange, I prefer the “plain” GW ones. Maybe it’s the head positioning of the painted version.
It’s fine; I don’t really think we’re short on Custodes standing in a guarding position though.
Nice figure but it looks too much like a statue pose, rock included. And for someone called a Shield Captain, he has no shield. At least, he should be in a “Shall Not Pass” pose with his weapon.
His faith is his shield you xenos scum! His faith is large and his shield is huger!
Oh, excuse my ignorance. Yet, if his faith is his “shield”, why wear armor at all or carry his big stick? He should be able to sway the heretic back into the fold with only the words of the Emperor and escape harm with nothing but sack cloth.
