The new Fist Of Dragonstones: Tavern Edition is coming to the tabletop this year thanks to Stronghold Games, expanding on Bruno Faidutti and Michael Schacht's work.

Fist Of Dragon Stones - Tavern Edition

Here's what's changing with the new edition of the game...

"The rules of Fist of Dragonstones: Tavern Edition have been updated from the original Fist of Dragonstones to improve gameplay, including the introduction of the King's Favor which should speed up play. The game includes more than seventy special character cards in the game, compared to twenty-five special characters in the original game.

Some of these special characters can be saved for later use in the game. Artistically, the game has been re-imagined in The Dragon & Flagon universe."

The original game sounds like a neat idea and certainly encourages a level of social engagement around the tabletop.

Fist Of Dragonstones

"Fist of Dragonstones is a closed-fist, bidding game. Players try to outwit their opponents by using gold and magic coins to buy control of an ever-changing cast of enchanted character cards. Those characters' powers collect valuable Dragonstones; lend their magical powers; help foil other players, and convert Dragonstones into victory."

I think I actually prefer the old art style that you see above but I can see why they'd want to bring it in line with another of the Stronghold Games series entries as mentioned above.

This might be worth checking out as a good game for conventions and the like!

What do you think?
