More Gameplay Details On Mythic’s Solomon Kane Emerge
February 21, 2018 by brennon
As you'll have no doubt seen on the site Mythic Games revealed their new game, Solomon Kane. Well, some more details popped up for the project as well.
Here's what Mythic Games shared as part of their update on Facebook...
"The game designer is Jake Thornton, a famous English author having signed games at Games Workshop and Mantic before joining Mythic Games.
The artist is Guillem H. Pongiluppi, an incredible artist who previously worked on Mythic Battles.
To ensure fidelity and respect for Howard's vision, we got the licence through Cabinet Entertainment and hired a luxury consultant: Patrice Louinet, a world-renowned expert of this author.
Solomon Kane is a cooperative and narrative game, for 2 to 4 players. It allows you to relive the stories of Solomon Kane as described in the short novels. The only notable difference is that players will be able to influence the story. Each player embodies one of the four cardinal virtues (Courage, Temperance, Prudence and Justice), invisible forces capable of inspiring Solomon Kane in difficult times. If Solomon Kane succeeds the adventure, all the players have won.
If he fails, the players have lost and the Evil side scored a victory.
The game will be launched this year on Kickstarter."
It sounds rather cool indeed. Make sure to check out more of the artwork that we shared yesterday for the game as well as a look at the miniatures.
Are you excited for Solomon Kane?

Luxury consultant 🙂
Hmm think I need one of those…or to be one of those 😛
*finishes his beer …… Temperance doesn’t sound like much fun …………….. 😛
Excited to see more about this, interesting game concept!
So if I am understanding this correctly; the 4 players are all effectively playing Solomon Kane, but as different aspects of his personality; NOT all using individual characters? That’s a curious twist! I assume the hero team will get npc side kicks we can give orders to… sounds like a much lower model count game.
Also…. Im totally picturing inside out now…
Interesting cooperative sounding game so dose the game change depending of what trate is fixing the problems.
So now Jake and the guys at Mythic will have to get Louinet all plastered with hard liquors if they hope to sneak anything non-canon into the game. “How about a werewolf?” “No.” “OK, have another drink … how about now?”
Sure this isn’t John Defool instead of Solomon Kane? 😀
That personality split mechanic *really* feels
le technically on a meta level that is not so different to playing cooperatively with different individuals for a single team ‘body’, still, sharing one character / body is somehow feeling weird. Disturbing even. Seems as if contesting for control of the way to go.
Maybe that’s just me being too thick to adapt to an unfamiliar way to approach immersive fantasy
Dammit – sent while editing… ^^
Should read:

Maybe that’s just me being too thick to adapt to an unfamiliar way to approach immersive fantasy play. And I prefer to create my own characters corresponding to a setting since I usually don’t connect to the main characters and typical spotlight heroes, and also I don’t really like taking characters others and possibly warping their ways because of me having different ideas and preferences.
