Let’s Play: Fabled Realms – The Kitbash Warband
February 19, 2018 by dignity
We're playing a game of The Legends of Fabled Realms with Adam from 4Ground.
Following on from our Kitbashing video, where we showed the potential for customisation and adaptability of models from other ranges, we've taken the end results and pitted them against each other.
Get yourselves ready to do your own kitbashing for the 4Ground Fabled Realms Beta Weekend. We will be having a Best Kitbashing prize that will be rewarded with a Kickstarter Exclusive and the ability to design a new character alongside the team from 4Ground. Not only that, we will also have a forum thread for you to show off your own home kitbashed warbands.

Really want to get my hands on the beta rules before flying out Thursday.
Excitement is reaching nerdgasm levels.
@wesadie1969 there are some rules up on 4groundforums.com….
Is that the Alpha rules, about 8 pdfs?
looks like a big change in dice system which I havent seen on the forums yet
agree, I liked all system, it really highlighted reward for better skilled or better equipment.
I t would be usefull to see stats of your models so we could understand better whats is going on not guessing specially the rules are not out yet.
hmmm personally liked the old dice system as there were more faces with the red dice being a d12? But I guess we will see how this new system plays out.
Am I the only one slightly confussed on the dice system? When dice colours were first mentioned I thought “Ah, red = D6, white = D8, etc etc” but then the D6’s were rolled, so I thought it must be either symbols or some numbers are missing, but again, I was wrong. Am I right in thinking that the system is “Red = 4+, white = 5+, green = 6+ (not those values, but that idea)” or am I wrong again? If so, please help. P.S. Love the idea of a game for Kitbasing models and armies. This could be… Read more »
The system uses only D6 dice. It will be explained fully in a future video but essentially:
Hits are:
Yellow – 6
Green – 5+
Blue – 4+
Purple – 3+
Red – 2+
Crits are 2+ the required hit number so on:
Blue – 6
Purple – 5+
Red – 4+
Thanks for the clarification. 🙂
There is an opportunity for custom dice with this system. E.G. Yellow dice having 5 blank sides, green having 4 blank sides etc, then blue dice having three blank sides and a crit, etc.
Saying that, it is nice to have a game that just uses D6 without fancy custom dice. Guess it depends how you hobby. Cheat-sheets may be needed for simple gamers like me as I will forget the needed rolls on certain dice.
Now I have the answer, I will re-watch and (hopefully) get more out of the game. 🙂
I think there will be custom dice. Well, at least I’ve paid for dice in the Kickstarter, kind of hoping they won’t be just regular D6s, haha!
But the current system that is quite usable without custom dice is good.
I hope they just use proxy dice for this games.
The DX system is so cool.
