Retro Video Games On The Tabletop In 8-Bit Box From IELLO

In some more upcoming board game news that should warm the heart of retro gamers, we have 8-Bit Box on the horizon from IELLO, pencilled in for an Essen SPIEL '18 release.
The game is meant to invoke and inspire the feeling of playing games from back in the day. Each player will have a gamepad where they will program actions for a variety of different games.

As you can see in the test images above the collection is going to feature a range of different mini-games for you to play, each using the same programmed movement mechanics. It sounds like a rather cool idea and a novel one which stands out from a lot of the other board games out there.
I quite like the idea of using some of the simpler video games that used to exist as the backbone for board game experiences as you can easily mimic the mechanics of those games with real-world devices as seen here.
What do you think of the idea?
