I think you should really use the light tone for the faces. At the moment they look really dark. But overall nice looking minis so far. The skulls are looking as if they were meant to be there from the beginning 😉
To push you a bit more towards the swamp… you could go nuts with all the mud and such things when it come to the weathering… as many guys wanted it for the Waffen-SS 😀 (iirc)
Hmmm. Is this not a dip only aplied with an airbrush??
It look nice anyway.
Basing I think grassland with flowers. A nice change from traditional 40k basing. The tyranids would love this planet and be a good enemy.
Can’t wait to see more tomorrow.
wash looks great, i do think timing the bases in with the theme will work nicely, just ordered myself some Vallejo mud effects to try on some of my terrain. think that thing would look amazing on this force. in my opinion i see this force like a cross 40k, napoleonic and ww1 trenches weathering style would look amazing and keep with the style. can see this force in muddy trench warfare. one thing is i would not be brave enough to put it on the lovely tank and make it muddy especially on the track. Blood Raven Transfers are… Read more »
I can’t wait for the tank weathering. It looks like it just rolled out of the factory, and the weathering steps will go a long way in breaking up that blue. I love the idea of swamp bases. It will give you a chance to play with water effects as well.
Pls forgive me, but what is s the difference between gloss and then wash rather than dip? Could you not have watered the dip?
Good point. I guess using this method you can change the colour of the wash in different areas of the model
Really nice to see a basically finished unit, I like the way the colours are coming together. I think for an army like this, some sort of basing that includes a little weathering (dust / mud) on the uniforms will help tie it together with the tank – although it already works pretty well I think.
I like them, very nice. I would go Strong tone for the faces myself or Flesh tone.
Marsh bases would be interesting.
i couldn’t see a clear enough shot to make a call on the wash. you’ve put so much effort in up to this point, be careful not to let the grind get the better of you my mate. my gut tells me you should have used more specific washes. vallejo or GW washes would surly give you more depth and contrast for a little extra effort. but not to worry that man they’re looking good all the same. as a side note i’d be interested to see you guys do a compare and contrast with some of the premade washes… Read more »
Wonderful work. Loving this army and video series.
Sorry for not commenting for a little bit, life is doing its thing. So I will give a bit of feedback that symbol looks amazing for the Prussians but I don’t know how good your photoshop-fu is but it is good enough I think you should make it double headed and blind the second eye. With where they are at, at the moment, the dark wash turned out great I think just hit the blues and reds with highlights let everything else be dull I think that will be fine and your good to go with that. Don’t wash the… Read more »
“Hans, have you ever looked at our hats? I mean *really* looked at them? It’s just…. well… they’ve got *skulls* on them…
“Hans…. are we the baddies?”
(Sorry, but with those hat transfers, somebody had to reference the Mitchell & Webb nazis sketch. Looking great so far, really enjoying following this project)
