Fate Rests On A Rogue Trader In Black Library’s Audio Drama Corsair
January 25, 2018 by dracs
Black Library has released a new full cast audio drama, following the adventures of one of the Imperium's less salubrious figures in Corsair: The Face of the Void.
In this radio style, audio drama by James Swallow, Rogue Trader Captain Athene Santiago and her crew are chasing pirates, when their prey mysteriously vanishes, only to reappear just as suddenly.
They venture aboard the stricken vessel, but what they find there is a little more than your average bounty.
"Faced with a mystery, Rogue Trader Santiago and her crew soon find themselves with something much darker when they board a derelict craft."
Rogue Traders are an area of 40k lore ripe for adventure stories and intriguing plot and I think this format plays to their strengths.
Personally, I prefer this narration-free style of audio drama as I find it creates a far more cinematic experience.
Are you going to pick this up to listen to during your next painting session? Do you prefer radio-style audio dramas, or does a bit of narration add to the epic feel of things?
"They venture aboard the stricken vessel, but what they find there is a little more than your average bounty..."

Sounds great can’t think of any Rouge Trader books of the top of my head so could be going on the list.
If it was available through NI libraries Libby app then I would give it a go. Certainly wouldn’t form out cash for it though
It’s always nice to get some Rogue Trader stories as well. Also that picture is in this year’s Black Library calendar as well.
Have listened to the preview and definitely like this ‘radio style’ more than narration. I don’t normally bother with GW fiction, but love Rogue Traders, so may well check this out.
