Dont Shoot The Big Shiny Things!!!

Darrell has a chat about a problem we’ve all faced, and it’s when we see a big nasty looking peace of kit on our opponent’s side of the board we take one look at it and say “ok that’s got to die” but sometimes it’s the worst thing you can do trying to take it down.

penetrated the dude 10 times? lol (1.46)
love the show by the way thanks for your daily efforts
This is proper good advice, back when I played wood elves I used a treeman or two too run down the middle and people would go mental trying to kill them and ignore my archer’s who were doing the real damage.
For once I whole heartedly agree with darrell. Bravo, good advice. However, darn it, why did you have to give it? I have spent so much time putting led’s into my monoliths so that people can’t help but look at them and think “I need to kill that model that he spent all that time making!” Its funny how putting lights or good details to a model can distract your opponent like a cat to a laser pen…
That’s why I take as many mommas boys as I can. Great video Darrell! People love to go after my valks and I love it when they do.
Tyranids would have been the perfect example for this vid I think, although when the swarmlord is getting close sometimes you DO have to kill him…
I think the trick is to know what to shoot at which big shiney/stompy things and which ones are just there to draw your fire away from the scoring units. Of coarse there are always times when you’ll have a unit such as the Vendetta or a Predator with the choice of shooting the big shiney or something like a 20 strong genestealer squad were you’d be daft not to shoot the shiney, but it goes back to a previous video on the order you shoot, can your guardsmen/tactical marines with nothing else in range hurt the big shiney and… Read more »
great vid… but both valkyrie and vendetta can carry up to 12 models, so they could have a troop choice in there if they wanted
Guards me the true fight for of the Human Amour. No stupid power amour or bolters. Just a lasgun and flax amour. So why is that when i play marines run away from a standard human as he chase him down after assault. Make no sense, then again i play true infantry guard to much to shoot and nothing wants to run away like an Ork wave when its fearless.
I agree with you Darrel. I learned not to shoot big shiny things the hard way. Where I would fire all my anti tank at 1 land raider and leave the rest transports alive and able to drive up to my forces. Well these days I tend to ignore vehicles almost altogether unless their a huge threat! (ex. Leman russ battle tanks)
Great tip for people to learn and keep doing great things Darrel!

Hehe, kinda reminds me of how my Nightbringer is sometimes more valuable as a damage sponge than when he actually gets into combat. I can’t count the number of times my friend has shot his IG heavy weapons teams at him who’s slowly marching his way across the board doing jack squat instead of my destroyers, which were basically killing a full squad a turn.
