So, a little unrelated but have you tried the colorshift paints yet? They look amazing, but harder to get in the States without importing them. From what I have seen, they are best applied with an airbrush. They didn’t seem to work as well with brushes.
Yes I have. Can you see the results from it? Not yet my friend 😉 My opinion is that you should -always- airbrush it. It’s great stuff.
Oh, you tease!
I’m liking the blue so far – it gives the impression of solidity. Re. dipping. From a project perspective, this probably makes sense. However, you did this on the last couple of vlogs, so what other options could be used instead to provide some alternative approaches to getting the right result? As for transfers, I would definitely design your own so that you can go through some of the issues and pitfalls involved. I tried it myself for my North Irish Horse tank emblems, but really had to think in advance on how to achieve it. I could take short… Read more »
One: No DIP don’t do it! Just don’t man just come on man your better than this it’s a custom army!!! Two: Either your going to have to add extra bits to the tank to make it more cathedral-ly or your going to have to abandon that blue colour. It just currently looks like an allied tank. I think perhaps rather than taking inspiration from western temples since they put prayers on consider Buddhist temples particularly the pray wheels. Maybe something like that so long as the guns rattle the wheels spin and when the wheels spin the Emperor hears… Read more »
The tank looks better with the grey, but I’m not convinced with all that blue on it.
I really do want to see you tackle making your own transfers.
As for dip I only use the washes now – less mess and smell.
I was going to say dip, but think caladors is right, its a custom army you should probably wash it.
Brush the dip on buddy, you know how well it works on blues and greys after the anti shine goes on. Liking the grey on the tank, would like to see the lines of the most forward parts carried onto the central chassis. Also maybe replicate it on the forward part of the turret.
I like the look of the amy.

Did nit work as planned but DIP them
@johnlyons maybe too late to chime in on the scheme but I think you could do something so interesting with the tank with the blue / grey scheme if you did it in a WW1 Dazzle Camo. I think the tank really lends itself to that sort of scheme and it would really tie the army together in a pretty spectacular way. This link is sort of what I mean

Wacky I know but I think it would look amazing.
That mite work & will look great on the on the table (zebra) squadron?
I actually kind of like the blue on the tank. For all the armour, that is not-guns and not-treads, if I was doing it up I’d probably aim for 60-70% blue with the majority of the rest in gray and a smattering of the red you showed off on the trousers here and there; that would pull it away from looking ultrasmurfy 🙂
@johnlyons just came across this manufacturer: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/ Might have saved you a bit of conversion time…
