Bloated & Foetid Nurgle Beauties Summoned Forth In Age Of Sigmar
January 15, 2018 by brennon
Monstrous beasts of Nurgle were the releases from Games Workshop for Age Of Sigmar over the weekend featuring some strange and disgusting looking new additions to your army of pox and plague.
The first of these releases is the Beast Of Nurgle which doesn't so much attack your enemy as roll over them and smother them with its tentacles and sheer mass. I'm not entirely sure on the design here for these creatures but it's certainly something very different.
Buzzing Killers
Moving on from that strange slug-like creation we have the Pusgoyle Blightlords who fly into battle on the back of these huge Rot Flies.
Here you can make some of the regular models that you see above, or use some of the additional components within the set to take one of them up to the level of Lord Of Affliction.
I feel exceptionally sorry for the poor fellow who has been caught and turned into the plaything of this Lord. A lot of the characters from the Nurgle force have always been quite impressive and the way they design armour for these rotting heroes/villains have always been impressive.
Still, I'm not sure on the choice of mount and the styling overall but it is certainly adding a new layer of character to a force that, maybe a few years ago, was simply defined by its Plaguebearers and that was it.
Battle & Bagpipes
Another of the character models is the Lord of Blights who is presented on foot.
Here's where you see some of the things I was mentioning about the armour design for Nurgle. The rot and battle damage is neat to see, especially when you then look at that pox-marked hammer and the shield. It would probably be a lot of fun painting this fellow up and getting that maggoty belly all slimy.
As if the sound of bagpipes wasn't soul-wrenching at the best of times (when played badly of course) we also have the Sloppity Bilepiper here too.
This fellow is, well, amazing. I think the design of this character is spot on from the way they've posed him and the cavorting little Nurgling to the actual make up of the disgusting set of bagpipes he's carrying. This has hints of the Oldhammer done in a new way which I like.
What do you think?

Those Nurgle models look great.
That bagpiper is bonkers. Love it!
nice corruption figures.
Given the high quality of this minis, we can only wish the other chaos gods get the same attention with new minis as Nurgle. For instance it´s a long time since Slaneesh got his range expanded.
I love the blopity slime piper or whatever he’s called. The Lord is great too*, with a small caveat… I like the bloat drones, but the riders don’t look very convincing to me. Finally, I do like the beast of nurgle… but only as a single model. The design of the creature, combined with the pose means that two of them (or more!) look really bad, even though the single model is fine. There is no disguising the fact that this is a monopose model, even with the few bits you can change. *Although I like the Lord, the problem… Read more »
Like the nurgle direction and more great minis, only downside is lack ov possability on beasts.
Oh, I hope we see Warhammer Quest stats of these.
