Monolith Add Batwoman Into The Mix For Gotham City Chronicles
January 9, 2018 by brennon
Monolith showed off their sculpt for Batwoman, joining the cast of heroes fighting against Batman's growing villain gallery in the upcoming Kickstarter for Gotham City Chronicles.
Clad in black and red, Batwoman (in this incarnation) is Kate Kane, Bruce Wayne's cousin. Don't confuse her with Batgirl, I already had to look this up to find out what the distinction between the two was.
She is very different from Batgirl in many respects, being a very tough and harsh taskmaster, putting some of the other vigilantes in the city through rigorous trials and tests in order to make sure they can deal with what comes their way. She is no slouch in combat herself either having had a military upbringing.
When it comes to the sculpt I do have some questions about it. For one, I don't think it would be that skintight that you'd see her belly button and she seems to be carrying around quite the caboose!
What do you think of their sculpt for Batwoman?

Nice sculpt. As far as the belly button goes, the sculptor may have been channelling George Clooneys Batman ( iirc that was nipple armour ).
I had to look this one up too =D
I see this game is going for full fan service. It will make a couple of million on KS. I’ll pass.
I am a big batman fan, but I don’t like the way Monolith is going with the look of the sculpts. They are suposed to be as you can see them in comics but st the same time there’s those damned straight lines and haed surfaces that are UGLY. I don’t understand why the sculptor is unable to avoid this style and do minis that look like organic beings and not like expresionists sculpts.
I think this one is a decent depiction of the character, oddly pronounced belly button aside. I think it is probably the best female sculpt they have shown so far as the pose and posture looks fine without any odd back arching or implausibly structured underwear.
An ample caboose hasn’t done Beyonce any harm so this strong, independent woman should be in good company.
It isn’t an amazing sculpt but it is solid I think, and as it is a less well known member of the Bat family that is probably OK.
Badonka donk!
I agree with @brennon. The first thing I noticed was the caboose (especially in the second image above). When I saw the belly button my thinking was “Is she naked?” I just haven’t been sold on any of the figures I’ve seen so far for this game.
Neither have I sadly, and I love the ‘Batman Mythos’
Im more a fan of Cassandra Cains incarnation of batwoman.
The first and only thing that popped into my head when I saw this mini was.. Dat Cape! Thank goodness these are not metal minis because the KM batgirl model has a similarly positioned cape and it was a pain to fit, a pain to balance it right so the mini didn’t keep falling over and a pain to store. Hopefully this sculpt won’t suffer from those last two things because I otherwise like it.
