WizKids Show Off New Star Trek + Classic D&D Monster Set
December 19, 2017 by brennon
WizKids have some new sets for you to take a look at for both Star Trek: Attack Wing and also their D&D Icons Of The Realm range as well. Leading the way we're heading into space...
The new sets break down into faction packs for both the Romulans and the Dominion. I think the ships from these sets are looking very swish indeed and I love the look of the Dominion overall with that purple sheen to them.
As well as the ships each of the sets come with all of the cards and bits and bobs you need to play. If you're still exploring space with Star Trek: Attack Wing then this does give you some interesting options for starting out with new players too.
Classic Monsters
Adding to the world of Dungeons & Dragons the folks at WizKids have come out with a new Icons Of The Realm set which brings together some Classic Monsters from the Monster Manual.
The set features a range of smaller and larger pre-painted miniatures. I particularly like that they've gone with the more traditional look to the monsters as well with this set which is nice.
If you're looking for a rundown of what is inside...
- Ogre Magi
- Demogorgon
- Orc
- Troll
- Purple Worm
- Orc Archer
- Sahuagin Mystic
- Owlbear
- Sahuagin
...so, will you be picking one of these up to have some extra special monsters to throw into your collection?
Drop your thoughts below...

I’m still surprised they don’t do more themed forces… like a few different orcs, a few goblins, and an ogre and maybe some carrion crawlers… then another undead force box… then maybe a wild-life encounter box.. then a demon or devil box… the eclectic mix is good if you need those random bitz.. but too random for me =p lol
Those are rather good.
love the ships.
I’ve been rather surprised that WotC and WizKids haven’t done a direct collaboration.
Have WotC’s D&D team create an adventure with a relatively limited cast, sell it in a boxed set with the maps and the WizKids minis for it.
