HATE From CMON Is Coming Exclusively To Kickstarter
December 8, 2017 by thisisazrael
CMON has officially announced the date of their highly anticipated new Kickstarter, "HATE".
The game is based on the world-renowned Chronicles of Hate by Adrian Smith and will see players take control of their own tribe in an effort to survive and thrive in a new, incredibly violent world order.
Conflict is everywhere, battles are glorious and the game can be played across campaigns or single clashes.
Tribe members may fall in battle, may be dragged back to the safe haven of their village or even taken to their enemies torture chambers.
Those who are unfortunate enough to be captured may pray to meet their demise in their enemies "oven" rather than living out the rest of their lives in agony.
HATE promises to be a truly brutal game and the miniatures shown off so far certainly show that off.
CMON released a full statement on what you can expect with the coming campaign. You can read it below:
If HATE is Kickstarter exclusive, does that mean I can’t buy it anywhere else?
Yes and no. HATE will not be regularly available through traditional channels after the Kickstarter; however, it is available as normal to our CMON Play retail members (and thus their customers) through the Kickstarter retail pledge; and it will be available at conventions CMON attends while supplies last.
I’m a retailer, and want to carry HATE at my store. How can I do that?
In early 2017, CMON launched the CMON Play program in North America, allowing members and their customers to take part in our Kickstarters by offering them full access to the campaign, including all Kickstarter exclusives and add-ons. The HATE Kickstarter campaign will be no different.
If you want to carry HATE in your store but you’re not a CMON Play member, please read more about the program here or contact us at [email protected] for more information.
When the HATE Kickstarter launches January 16 at 3:00PM EST, we will begin accepting retail pledges through a special email address opened at that time and announced on www.cmon.com/play
Will HATE be available in multiple languages?
No. HATE will only be offered in English through the Kickstarter campaign. However, like CMON’s other campaigns, anyone in the world can support the campaign and receive the game.
Why is HATE Kickstarter exclusive?
Our ultimate goal with HATE is to offer a game that remains as true as possible to the source material: Adrian Smith’s Chronicles of HATE graphic novels. As you might guess from the name, the world of HATE is not a happy or peaceful one and includes a lot of mature content. We know not everyone will find this type of experience pleasant, so instead of stripping out the atmosphere, we are going direct to those who will want this type of gaming experience, including our retailers through CMON Play.
All in all, I'm really excited to see this game and where CMON are headed under the steer of Eric Lang.
Does HATE get your blood pumping to play?
I’ve been looking forward to this one. I had to pullout of backing Joan of Arc – Joan of Arc! *cries a little bit* – due to financial reasons, although fortunately a mate bit the bullet and backed it *dries eyes*, but now here it is, just over the horizon. 😀 😀
Oh wow!!
My favourite boxed set from all my Zombicide stuff is my Adrian Smith hate set, a whole game on this is going to be amazing, hope it’s in marine range!
Eric Lang makes good games, and the art direction is… special… to say the least. I thought I would not be interested at all, but now I look forward to checking the KS out.
This will clash with the opening of Joanna of Arc pledge manager.. not sure I will have any cash left as I’m sure JoA will convince me to spend even more cash.
That said, I love Adrian Smith’s chaos art, so I may be tempted.. hopefully the figures do the art justice.
the figures are looking fantastic.
no holds bared you say, that’s an interesting turn of events. i like the fact they’re taking a creative risk and the art will be top notch for sure. i’m having a dark fantasy phase at the moment with KD:M and have been merrily working my way though berserk the manga i’m late to the party with symbaroum but i’ll be all over that soon enough. so this should be really speaking to me right now. but i’m honestly not sure how i feel about it yet. i meen we all know the art will be ridiculously good but Eric… Read more »
I think they’re doing the PVC like they did with Blood Rage and The Others. Which is to say “very, very good PVC.”
The PVC flaws are still there, but I’m seeing a lot of organic shapes that will cast well in PVC.
Art and minis look lovely, but probably not on my list. All kickstarters are off the radar until Godtear lands for me. Said it before and will say it again simply way too many cool toys atm
That’s true
I’ve started up a policy of painting a project before picking up a new one. I’m not wealthy, but I can easily afford to pay full price for all of the minis that I’m actually going to paint.
I hate this … oh wait, no I don’t.
I hadn’t heard of the source material, but those miniatures look good enough to form their own chaos warband.
Between this and Batman I think I may have already broken my promise to stop backing kickstarters next year. LOL
Well at least it took as long as January for you to break it and then February for you to break it again… 😉
I could change my promise to only back those two and then I’d be good …
until the next kickstarter is mentioned here on BoW
Now I could stop reading this site, but that’d make me a sad panda.
The minis in this look fantastic. Would make for some great Chaos-waste barbarians in Warhammer.
I’m looking forward to this one.
