Community Spotlight: ArcWorlde Fantasies, Cyberpunk & Airborne Arrivals
December 1, 2017 by brennon
We've got some awesome goodies to share with you today from the Hobby & Painting Forum as we reveal more of your stunning work across all manner of genres.
Let's dive in and see what you've been doing...
Human Interface by onlyonepinman
We kick things off with a look at some awesome Cyberpunk miniatures painted up from the Human Interface collection by onlyonepinman. These models are from the first Kickstarter for the game, Nakamura Tower and shows off the models for some of the key members of the Nakamura Corporation.
I really like the way the bases have been painted with that blue glow which certainly keeps things in the Cyberpunk realm. This nice bright blue is then continued across the models and the bright splashes of red also help to break up the black which could have been overwhelming.
The same spot colour techniques have been used on the Blackstone Commandos as well below and the effects are very nice.
Here we've got yellow as the key colour across the bases and on their goggles/visors that adorn their helmets. This means that at a glance when they're on the tabletop you're able to tell who is fighting for who. It also adds to them a significant dose of menace I think.
It's really nice to see more work going into these Cyberpunk models and maybe I'll actually end up buying a few of these so I can paint them up myself. I've been teetering on the edge for a while now but this might have pushed me over the edge, damn you onlyonepinman!
ArcWorlde Warbands by somegeezer
Warploque Miniatures ArcWorlde is one filled with some astounding sculpts and it's nice that we're seeing folks from the community choosing them as their latest projects. Here we have somegeezer who painted up the characters from Battle For Troll Bridge, their starter set for the game world.
Kicking things off we have the Halflings of Hobbleshire above who still look mean and like they can handle themselves despite their diminutive stature. I like the work on the bearded fellow in the middle, especially with the facial details, and the half-and-half shields are very neat and tidy.
Next up we have some of the Bayourks who, once again, are fantastic sculpts bought to life very nicely by the paint scheme.
I love the way that these models have been painted with such vibrant greens serving as the key focus of the models, backed up by clothes which are equally colourful. It's nice to see miniatures and models for a game with a bright tone to them rather than lots of grime and dirt. I think the comical and highly stylised sculpts lend themselves to this style.
Last but not least we have some of the Albionnicans from ArcWorlde who always remind me of soldiers from Fable III.
Once again, a very nice scheme which complements the models very well and brings out all of their best features. The red and white is a great choice and I like the battered look to the armour as well as if they've had it on for quite a while. Either that, or it used to belong to some long-dead soldiers.
British/Polish Airborne by piers
Last but not least we have a look at the work by piers who blows us away each time he goes into a historical project. Check out the work he's been doing on the British Airborne alongside some Polish soldiers too.
Not only is there some great work on the uniforms and that camouflage but there's plenty of things to spy when it comes to the details too. I particularly like the way the rifles have been painted and the berets too.
You can see it more here as well, especially when we get a look at those red berets which stand out very nicely despite the deep red. The wounded soldiers have also come out well too and help tell a bit more of a story for the unit going forward too.
Some stunning models that I think anyone would be happy to have in their World War II collection. I would recommend going to check out more of his work on the link above as you can see the army in its entirety too!

I had no idea this was here. Blimey!
Fantastic choices. Great work all!
Wait.. What? I got a golden button? They must be giving them away.
What a pleasant surprise though!
@onlyonepinman high five mate, your good deed only went and got you a golden button.
To be honest it was something I should have done 12 months ago really, the “good deed” sort of just gave me an incentive to start sharing my progress through the miniatures 🙂
But hi five back at you. Glad you have enjoyed it
great work well deserved the three of you.
@onlyonepinman your stuff is good, be kind to yourself
@somegeezer It is great to see Arcworlde stuff on here! Especially ones so well painted.
Self deprecation gets me through the day 🙂
I’m still chuffed I got one because that’s three for the year!
Thanks @mage. They’re a joy to paint and I have poor impulse control around buying minis. Chances of a revisit are high!
Great to see some ArcWorlde Sculpts in the mix. I’ve just had their latest KS arrive for the Troubles in the North Expansion. The minis just keep getting better.
Tremendous to hear @jax78. I’ve no more Arcworlde in the pile of shame, but that will change!
I have really enjoyed looking at @somegeezers arcworlde stuff, encore.
Thanks @emptynessisform – it won’t be long before the Arcworlde itch returns
Oh blimey. I had no idea. I was out all last week and had missed this. I’m humbled, shamed, and I don’t know how many other things!
I love Golden Buttons, they’re my second favourite type od button after Milky Bar Buttons. And the best thing about Golden Buttons is that they’re always a pleasant surprise
