Wander Through The Meadows With Deep-Cut Studio’s New Mat
November 24, 2017 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio has been showing off one of their new mats which is focused towards 15mm wargaming but there's no reason you couldn't use it larger scales too.
Whilst this is effectively a big green Meadow, sometimes you just need something which is a little plainer so you can add your own personal touch to the tabletop. With it being for 15mm you could imagine this working rather well with a lot of the Historical games out there.
You can get your hands on plenty of different sizes for the mat so if you want to tailor it to your game or indeed your gaming space, you have a chance to do so.
Will you be picking one of these up?
"You can get your hands on plenty of different sizes for the mat..."
What makes this version of a green mat better for 15 mm than previous versions of a green mat?
Well the green is closer together obviously 😀 (Translation : I have no ^&&^ idea)
Normally a 28mm scaled mat would have patches of dirt, rocks, and grass tufts to add some variety and make it look less artificial. While these details could still work for 15mm games they don’t always look quite right. These mats seem to have much denser and shorter grass so they would look more natural at 15mm but could still serve as a well kept grass lawn in 28mm.
they should do a side by side and explain this. Perhaps Warren will meet this Mat in the future in order to do just that.
Are you suggesting @warzan should film a mat threesome?
I suspect that very little encouragement would be needed ……and he still wouldn’t call them the next day .
Plain grass might not be the most interesting to look at, but it is more versatile. It can be used for many different games as long as you’ve got the other terrain to add variety to the board.
I would agree with this
