Toy Vault Announce The Princess Bride is Coming to Kickstarter
November 16, 2017 by dracs
Toy Vault are turning the cult classic movie The Princess Bride into an RPG and will be bringing it to Kickstarter later this month.
Below is the announcement from Toy Vault's Facebook:
"Fezzik, Inigo, Westley, and Buttercup are coming to your tabletop. The Princess Bride Roleplaying Game is authored by Steffan O'Sullivan, the designer of classic RPG titles such as GURPS Swashbucklers and GURPS Bunnies and Burrows. We have used Steffan's Fudge system — a light, fast-paced RPG engine that provides just the right feel of light-hearted, fantastic adventure that embodies The Princess Bride universe.
Besides the rulebook we are going to offer a Deluxe Edition and an Inconceivable Edition. We’ll also have great accessories such as Fudge dice (made especially for The Princess Bride Role Playing Game) and "Grandpa Wait" tokens which are used to change the fate of your characters in the game."
There is plenty to work with with The Princess Bride. While it's fairy tail style does make its setting rather limited in scope, there are plenty of hints of a wider world. And really, who wouldn't want to pretend to be the Dread Pirate Roberts or Vizzini? Dibs Inigo Montoya!
I particularly like the mention of the "Grandpa wait" mechanic, it seems like a nice way to include that iconic aspect of the story without interrupting gameplay too much.
Do you plan to join this Kickstarter?
Hello, my name is BoW Sam. You killed my father. Prepare to game.

Inconcievable ……………
You keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means…:)
Also, great news! Very interested in this one.
I could ask you to trust me that I do …… However as my place of birth is also the source of iocane powder and peopled entirely by criminals, CLEARLY you can not trust me ………
Someone tell me they are going to fix the zombie Fezzik art before production!
If my group played that, it would just be four or five people saying
“Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Around a table for 2 hours.
Not just your group …
To the pain ….. very cool, fortunately there is more than one quote it is known for … now can you get into a land war in Asia
