Warren is the best dad ever!!! Warren can you adopt me? I wanna go on adventures!!
Agreed, Warren should adopt everyone 😛
Lol
If you don’t mind bunkbeds lol we don’t have very much space in our wee house.
But the more the merrier lol 😉
Gaming shanty town in your garden me thinks 😛
Any chance you can put this video (or at least the gamer dad section of it) outside the backstage area because I would love to share it with friends that have kids but are not gamers. I think they would really get a kick from it.
Quick question, any updates on putting a little BOW symbol in backstagers profile pics so we know who’s supporting the site, kinda like a little badge of honor for your dedicated supporters 😉
Updates to the website will start in a month or so, once we get production settled again 🙂
This particular update ‘could’ happen in the later stages of that, as it’s looking like a complex wee bugger to implement, and we’re gonna have to get outside help to do it 🙂
Good show guys, love that backpack you got for your kid, might have to do that myself for my 5 year old. Talking about larp you can buy alchemy pouches that have bials and jars and such, maybe that would be a cool add on for your adventures out into the woods, combine that with the bag and it will be cool. As for starting a club I would love to hear how that goes, I am trying to spruce up my local club at the minute as we have lost quite a few players recently moving house to start… Read more »
plug away!
Stores and clubs are important, and we want to help as much as we can.
Just wanted to say thanks for the vids even though you don’t have a studio cheers guys
Looks definitely like an officer’s map case. If it’s Finnish, it should have “SA-Int” stamped somewhere possibly with a tower logo. In any case, the stampings are your best clue as to its origins.
Thanks for the show guys. If anyone is interested in the map case, then go over to your friend, E-bay and type in “Army Officer Map Bag Case Military Bag”. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. 🙂
thanks for the tip…. I am so looking forward to doing this with my 4 yr old grandson.
I always wish I had become a marine biologist as that seems to be a part of our world where new discoveries are being made all the time 🙂
I think my one regret was not travelling down to see you guys in Essex as you were only an hour or two away from me 🙁 Oh well, will have to travel to see you in Ireland :p
Missus often watches my backstager xlbs over my shoulder so making her subscribe, no more leeching off me.
Great show.
Warren–what an AWESOME adventure backpack you have created for your daughter! I have no doubt she is the ultimate Daddy’s girl and will cherish all these wonderful adventures the two of you have together as she grows up.
We play Cards Against Humanity (including Star Trek and homemade cards) as the ultimate party game. We had one couple who thought the cards were in poor taste. We just made sure to not invite them again, if we were playing it, since it is all about having a fun time!
Thanks for another great Sunday morning show!
Yeah she’s my girl alright 🙂 every day she surprises me with her humor and good nature. Me and Andrea are very blessed to have her and little Manny 🙂
I have to find out more about those star trek cards!
Sean at Blue Table Painting would love to see you guys at Valhalla and you could have some great Utah mountain adventures.
I have questions. The road trip, isn’t that going to be a little hard to do as you’ve got you’ve got family Warren? Also, regarding the club idea. Sounds OK but I just feel you’re rushing ahead to fast. You’ve lost the support of Wayland Games so assuming money is tight, it really isn’t a good idea to attempt the club idea yet. Look at what happened to Worthy Painting when they steamed ahead to quickly and went bust. None of use what Beasts of War to go bust, so I’d hold off on the club idea for now until… Read more »
Road trips will take time, there is no pressure on the family at the moment, so no worries there. We’re talking about a club, not a store, we will likely meet once a week, and we are looking for somewhere to meet that will be free. We will have to make gaming boards, but we need those anyway, and as regards terrain and games, well BoW never has much of an issue sourcing those. Don’t worry, we haven’t lost our marbles! Things are tight, but we have to forge ahead 🙂 Dave will hopefully be sending me a wee email… Read more »
Time spent being a proper Dad will pay back great dividends. There weren’t many Dragons round these parts but there were plenty of Orcs and Goblins. Funny because the same woods were full of Red indians when I was small
My little adventurer will be 21 next week and when he’s home and we go for a hike in the countryside. Trust me the woods are still Magic
Fun fact: For a more family friendly version of Cards Against Hummanity you can try a game called Apples to Apples. It’s been around here in the States for years. Not sure if it’s made it over seas? The mechanics are exactly the same it sounds like so it’s easy to play and gets better the more people you have. I say family friendly, but there are quite a few combos you can put together that might not be appropriate for the wee ones. It’s kind of nice because you can play it for kids or with more prudish friends… Read more »
Also, my daughter is just a few months younger than yours Warren, I’m not sure she is ready for those types of outings you have planned, but I think come spring she will! I’m right up against the Utah mountains so there is lots of good hiking and camping spots within a few minutes of our home.
Plus we have another kid coming in a few weeks so this might be a great way to get some one on one time in with the older daughter while getting out of mom’s hair!
oh come on.. you guys didn’t even crack a grin when Sam said “Justin does _____ when editing?” That was great… and we all want to know what that is. 🙂
Warren there is a Film that has Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You in it the name of the film is The Spiderwick Chronicles it is based on the series of children’s books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

If you do get the RV for the road trips may I suggest you name it The War Wagon. Warren may I also suggest you look into the Dragonology books and products, at my desk I currently have a map showing the migration patterns of Frost Dragons. For further amazing books look into the works of Wil Huygen, Rien Poortvliet, and Brian Froud. They helped contribute to a series of illustrated books on Gnomes, Faries, and Trolls. You will want to look through those books first just to make sure the art style will not scare your child.
That army map bag isent Norwegian, the Norwegian one is olive green and not in leather. Dont know if its Finish either, but its clearly a cool bag.
Thats one lucky kid 🙂 good job Warren!
If you are doing a film for “club life”
I vote for me arranging and putting together the sound track 🙂
sample:
We ditch the name “club life”
and call it “Get Your Game On”
Then a camera sweeps a board full of Warmanordes or dropzone or Kings of War
Then the intro music hits Pantera mouth for war
