Return To A World Of Classic Fantasy As The Last Unicorn Becomes An RPG
November 6, 2017 by dracs
Playground Adventures have made the exciting announcement that they are working on a new RPG set in the world of the classic fantasy movie The Last Unicorn.
The Last Unicorn was a 1982 animated fantasy film, featuring the voice talents of Angela Lansbury, Jeff Bridges, and the late great Christopher Lee.
The film told the story of the eponymous last unicorn, as she journeys in search of her vanished fellows, contending with witches, a flaming bull, and the temptations of mortality as she does.
The Last Unicorn is a fairly imaginative fairytale setting, with plenty of scope for players to insert themselves into the world.
Playground Adventures have said they will be bringing the RPG out next year, which will give fans of 80s fantasy something to look forward to.
Are you a fan of the movie? What character would you make for this game?

Suddenly I feel sad and want to cry. This movie really left a hole in my heart as a child.
Oooh I love this movie and it holds up so well despite the older style animation.
Oh iM keen im so keen
The film is actually a lot better if you don’t watch it too closely. Distract yourself with some mini painting.
Basically, the actors voices are way more expressive without the awful animation getting in the way (it isn’t just old, it is poor).
Do we get to play the tree that tries to smother the wizard to death in its giant breasts?
Well this is interesting.
I never even saw this movie back then. Sounds like I would like it. Around the time of my childhood. I will check it out.
Did they actually say they’re basing it on the film and not the novel?
That just surprises me (even though the film is definitely the iconic version).
Love the animated…and the music!!! But an RPG…mmmhhhh.
Every now and then I watch this movie. Also have the opening song on my spotify list.
I think I’m the target market for this one.
