Finally, was missing my backstage fix 😀
Nice to have you back guys, you were sorely missed!
And did anyone else notice the box fart at 22:58 im still laughing 😀
Thanks, that was worth going back to see.
Happy Sunday >-:)-< welcome back guys
Great show, thanks guys!
I appreciate you telling about the situation and the future plans, I agree with your decision 100%.
While I can’t speak for anyone else, I was just trying to assure you that there is an audience for other games as well.
Can I just say, I loved the more relaxed feel of these two episodes. I like the out and about vids, seeing as your about to hit winter I suspect they’ll become limited but in the case of The Weekender/XLBS I hope they continue in one form or another
Happy Sunday guys. Thanks for getting the show out bright and early, lovely relaxed atmosphere to this weekends show.
Warren, I think you may take pleasure in a blood o kittens article. It looks like the top Pitbull at GW Legal has moved on. Many questions here, but her Linked-in ?application/notice for work is a very good read. Maybe some good may come of this with GW.
Here is the link

Great video guys and well put together. I can see how much this situation has hurt you Warren and I can completely understand. I think we can all take a leaf out of Beasts of War book and continue to not only support our great hobby but also in supporting you all.
Great location guys, I would like to see more of your fantastic countryside.
Good to have you back guys. Hope your going to do Warhammer as well as 40K.
If they have sacked their current legal pitbull I hope it’s not because she was too soft 😉
Happy Sunday!
What a gigantically beautiful spot to film your weekender show. I think you’re totally right not to leave out all those players who love their Warhammer or Warhammer 40k Miniatures and the games. Diving more into painting over the last 3 years, I decided to paint my armies up and finish some of my scratch build projects. So I’m excited to see some 40k content in the future, even if I mostly play Warmachine nowadays 😉
Another great show guys, really put a smile on my face,
and I agree with what warren said at the beginning 100%, hearing this really helps reinforce my passion for the hobby, so keep the content coming guys and good luck with all your future plans.
I’m liking the new on set location, but to quote Game of Thrones “Winter is coming” and I don’t know if the great out doors will be suitable in,say 2 months. Justin may have to put on a few pounds for winter. 🙂
As far as gamer elitism goes, I can see where you’re coming from, especially as GW’s getting so many established gamers’ backs up. OK GW have been doing this for a long time (I’m old enough to remember them removing other companies’ stuff from White Dwarf and their shops) but it’s more visible now we’re all talking about it online. FWIW I still spend the majority of my hobby time on Warhammer (so many state troopers, aargh!) But … as a community, I think we’re better than that. We’re an easygoing bunch (~600 comments on your important announcement aside :)).… Read more »
Great show guys, I like the on location style of filming. I would like to say that I am pleased with your decision to continue with some Games Workshop material. I completely understand why many of the BoW community and evening the BoW team may have negative feelings towards GW, however on a personal level I love 40K and I love BoW so I really wanted to see you guys continue to do some work on GW games On that note, are you still thinking of doing a Space Marine week? It would be fantastic to see your thoughts on… Read more »
Great vid guys, I have to say that whilst you obviously are not as financially secure as you were , Warren looks a hell of a lot healthier than he has done for the last 6 months or so, the stress was obvious. I like the 40K content, I dislike the company, I often dislike the miniatures these days as well because I just do not get the direction the art and design is going, but they still turn out a few good ‘uns here and there (Dark vengeance is to me, the best pack of minis you can get… Read more »
I bought my first miniature in 1982 after being introduced, by a friend, to Dungeons and Dragons. It was a Ral Partha elf and I borrowed some oil paints from my uncle and spent hours pain stakingly painting it. Over the next few years I built up a collection of miniatures by Citadel, Ral Partha, Asgard … But mostly Citadel. I bought the first editions of Warhammer and Rogue Trader and played little skirmish games with my space marines against my friend’s orks. Then in the early 90s I stopped. I was at university by then and didn’t have the… Read more »
Know how you feel mate, makes you think twice about declaring your love of your hobby, OR you can be like me and not give a flying f@#$ about what a bunch of petty people have to say, and argue all the more because it really winds people up when you say you aren’t affected by the price rises lol. I’m not elitist, I just like trolling trolls who seem to think everyone should do as they do, each to his own I say.
Wow!! Your story echo’s mine. Started with D&D many years ago, lost touch when I went to Uni and got a real job, my wife started card crafting and told me to get a hobby, we walked past a GW store, she pushed me in…. and WHAM!!! I was instantly hooked. So thank you GW for reintroducing me to the world of fantasy. I bought a box of Bretonnian knights and spent 4 hours painting a horse. I was in Nerdvana. Then I stumbled upon BoW and they opened my eyes to a whole world of wargaming I didn’t know… Read more »
@erastus, I have to say I felt the same way. I would often watch a video and see the torrent of GW hate in the comments made. It put me in a position where I felt that I couldn’t post my feelings as it would be seen to be supporting GW and as a result wrong. I felt by liking 40K I was in some way damaging the integrity of tabletop gaming.
I agree. I’m not a 40k player any longer but I think some of the views expressed went too far. If you’d just read these posts you’d think that 40k was doomed and no-one was playing it any more. I think most (including BOW) know this isn’t the case. 40k and Warhammer are still, by far, the most popular games at my local club and on it’s forum. I feel very much in the minority as someone not interested in GW systems.
Despite what has been said here you are part of the (less vocal so far) majority.
I haven’t played Last Night on Earth, so nice to see the unboxing and look forward to a review next week. We will be playing Zombie Dice and Zombies as our games of choice for the Halloween run up. Thanks for another great show!
Also, looking at all that gorgeous scenery has us wishing for an Irish vacation!
Nice one Lads amd welcome home. Youve come out of this shining, well done and heres to many more.
I love 40K because it was the game that introduced me to wargaming. I no longer play it as I don’t really get on with the new rules but am always interested in the new stuff GW brings out (and pleased I don’t play anymore when I see the prices!). I still love 40K because I love the universe GW created for it so I read the novels and play Epic Armageddon to get my fix. I also play many other systems and you are my main source of information on these (I’d have had no idea about Mars Attacks… Read more »
Just love what you guys are doing. The future of BoW sounds good to me. How you all felt about receiving all those legal letters from GW must have been very draining’ Got to admit my own enthusiasm for 40K took a serious knock when you told us your news but I’m not that precious that I won’t get over it. I have wargamed for many years and long before GW were on the scene and I enjoy a lot of games including some of theirs. @somegeezer comments about the community on this site are sound. Its a fun site… Read more »
I’m glad you guys have recognized that for a lot of people, 40K is part of their fabric, and the bi-directional elitism is damaging. I’ve always found the elitism tries to create and enforce a perception that people are binary creatures, incapable of enjoying several things in several different ways. People are more complex than that, and they can love Warmachine, Flames of War and 40K in equal measure, for equally divergent reasons. I’m not a big fan of GW. I quite contently go month to month without making purchases from GW. I love what a lot of the other… Read more »
Awesome show guys, thanks
Are the comments on the site that bad when it comes to criticising folks who play 40K? As I don’t tend to frequent the specialist GW content much I don’t see the comments all that much.
Its about people taking negative posts about GW personally more than anything else … personally i refuse to fund a company that bullies its own customers and community. Saying all big companies behaves questionably and use that as an excuse for GWs treatment sums up perfectly how GW survives.
Disclaimer: just MY opinion
It’s not the content of individual posts, it’s the sheer number of them. It’s the constant barrage of anti GW which I think ultimately will damage BoW if it continues by turning 40k players away from this site. If you don’t like GW then that’s fair enough. Don’t buy their products. However, if you keep up this constant anti-GW stuff you will just sour the atmosphere and spoil BoW for those people who do like GW. I think Warren’s statement was an attempt to draw a line under things and let us all move on, but there are people who… Read more »
Its comments like GW fans are lemmings and glutton’s for punishment. Even comments like it bullies its customers, I haven’t been bullied, I pay, they supply a product. End. Christ one dick on here compared support of GW to supporting Nazis!
And yes, it gets to a point where you think “why the hell am I paying to support a site where everyone seems to hate my hobby and these same people have even suggested we have a corner of the site for GW fans called the chum bucket!”
It’s not the comments I take personally, it’s the over-extension of one person’s experiences as being a reflection of the community as a whole. Games Workshop has very strict, many would say abusive, policies in everything from community management to business relationships, I don’t dispute that. But, my local GW has always been friendly and personable. When I’ve had an issue they’ve been fast to resolve it. When I go in they treat my family (wife and kids) with respect. The manager has never tried to force me into a purchase, or offer anything but what I went in for.… Read more »
