Journey From Tabletop: Man O’ War Corsair
September 27, 2017 by crew
Today Sam aka MrStainless001 is off on an adventure in Man O' War Corsair by Evil Twin Artworks.
In today's episode, Sam or Captain Chester Morningwood of the Salty Splatoon is sailing the choppy waters and fighting off against the dastardly Greenskins in this nautical adventure.
Based off the classic Games Workshop tabletop game, you fight off a variety of ships and some not so friendly beastly foes also.
Have you plundered through Man O War Corsair yet?

Just about the right sort of madness in a game i love 😀 . It does make me want Man o’ War back in the table-top version as well .
Currently 33% off on Steam so I will pick it up.
It’s getting mixed reviews at the moment, so I’m guessing it’s got an update that broke stuff.

Sid Meiers’ Pirates – Excellent pirate game but really a collection of mini-games.
Sunless Sea I found frustrating. Too little information given and no way to record what you’ve learnt in-game.
I’d recommend Sea of Thieves when that comes out. The videos of the ship to ship combat look amazing.
Sid Meiers is great but like Xaerin said it is a collection of mini-games. Equally looking forward to seeing more of Sea of Thieves, I’ll definitely be picking that up
Games of this type tend to be collections of mini games, unless they copy Elite and turn you into a trader who has to fend of pirates (and aliens in the recent update … ).
@xaerin : Sunless Sea is what is often referred to as ‘rogue like’ or ‘rogue lite’.
Not having any information about how stuff works is part of why games like that can be fun.
It is however a format that isn’t for everyone.
look a good game.
Man, those animations are bad.
In all honesty, it looks like an inferior version of the legendary Sid Meiers’ Pirates.
The animations aren’t the most breathtaking however it is a small studio and this seems to be the biggest project they’ve undertaken so far. It is an enjoyable game so I’d commend them for it.
It’s not that they fail to be breathtaking – I could live with merely mediocre – it’s that they’re downright bad. Crew just keeps running in place… A strange shuffling of feet when going diagonally… Both crew and enemies being pushed around during boarding actions… A lot of clipping going on… Combat that seems incredibly awkward… All in all, it points to a badly optimized game with numerous bugs still waiting to get fixed. A game that’s barely out of alpha and far from ready for a general release. If you’re enjoying it, great. But going by what I’ve seen… Read more »
