September 16, 2017 by dignity
The guys sit down to go through the new 8th Edition Adeptus Mechanicus Codex from Games Workshop for Warhammer 40,000.
Led by the enigmatic and mysterious Belisarius Cawl the Adeptus Mechanicus had a massive part to play in the events leading up to the Gathering Storm and they're armies have become firm favourites of us here at Beasts Of War.
We take a look through the Codex, check out the units available for your armies and more.
Will you be getting this Codex?

Good video. This army never appealed to me much before, but must admit they’re starting to. Mind you, most of the 40k armies are at the moment to be honest! Regarding the question you asked, pretty sure you can use two strategems in a phase, as long as they are not the same one.
Legend thank you for confirmation 🙂
And I completely agree, GW have done such a great job with all the codexs so far that it’s hard to choose a faction. At a glance the Adeptus Mechanicus didn’t do much for me but upon reading into them I found myself far more drawn in. Az
Great review. I’m really into Mechanics and can’t wait to get my copy. Thanks!
thanks for the video guys. Never been into Mechanicus though, i don’t really like the look of most of them but, the fluff you guys mentioned got me a bit more interested, however; if i decide to get a second army, i’ll have to wait, maybe my first love and first army: the eldars? or Dark Eldars, dunno…
I have a 4k force as allies for my Iron Warriors, I just them as bullet shields.

dignity@ dont temp with more 40k stuff. Ive always loved the Mechaniuc, since i read the first Dark Apostle novel, where the imperial guard have to work together with skiitari, against word bearers lets just say they have diffrent ways of warfare aswell ;P The soul drinkers is a great book series aswell. I have been tempted with the starter box for sometime, maybe its time to go for it 😀
I couldn’t understand the appeal of the Mechanicus till I saw that Kastelan illustration [the striding robots] in the new 40k Index – so awesome it made the army ‘real’ and ‘alive’
Check out the alternative heads from Wargames Exclusive they make the robots less B-Movie 🙂

‘Danger Will Robinson’ to ‘Saturn 3’ 🙂
Great video guys – have to say that Belisarius Cawl is a fantastic mini 🙂
Little thing to note. The Admech CAN develop new designs put do to the Heresy one of the big things was that the DESIGN of equipment can make it Easier or Harder to be effected by the Warp. That is one of the reason why so many of Chaos Battlefleets have the silhouette that they do. So everything MUST be checked over for Centuries. And most Forge Worlds keep much of what they are working on secret from other Forge Worlds to keep them selves special from the others. So there are some times a LOT of over lap of… Read more »
Forgot to mention, STC are hunted down because they are extremely easy to build and maintain items. They are designs that are just about perfect for what they are intended to do so they are so valuable. Like the Rhino and the Lasgun. Both can be built by shockingly ‘low tech’ worlds because the design been that refined. Yes non Admech worlds makes a LOT of ‘basic’ things, it just that those worlds need to get permission from the Admech to make things. So things like basic civilian and military vehicles are fine as long as the locals follow the… Read more »
Very good video. I’ll be getting this. I thought they could have combined the cult into this book.
Great video, thanks guys (and GW). Just enough content to pique our interest without giving anything major away. Well done.
a great video guys a robot army is always a interesting option.
