Warhammer 40,000 Unboxing: Mortarion
September 19, 2017 by johnlyons
Today John and Justin get their hands on Mortarion, Daemon Primarch of Nurgle for Warhammer 40,000 from Games Workshop.
Enveloped in a constant air of putrescence, just being in close proximity to Mortarion is enough to cause nearby enemies to choke and collapse.
He stands tall on a 100mm base, dual wielding his scythe, Silence, and The Lantern, an ancient energy pistol. These weapons can be swapped between arms but otherwise, the model is designed for a single dominating pose.
How would you paint this incredibly detailed model?

Mortarion will definitely be part of my army
I have to ask, why was the build video out before the unbox..?
Hey @sephvion, Unboxing is a regular weekly show that we know viewers like to tune in for whereas we were keen to show something new with Mortarion and being such an intricate model we thought the build video would give a fresh view for anyone interested around the pre-order time.
Cheers, Az
Justin strikes again, “compare the size of the cloak to my finger”. So how long is your finger, Warzan don’t answer that
It’s the same length as a piece of string.
I like parts of it but not model as whole. but on other side |I would love to spend month on painting it.
This was a really helpful unboxing! I’ve linked it in our article about the model: https://alkony.enerla.net/english/the-nexus/miniatures-nexus/miniature-related/miniature-kit/mortarion-daemon-primarch-of-nurgle-kit-warhammer-40-000-ed8-games-workshop-2017-miniature-kit-review
