Journey from Tabletop: GWENT – Getting Started
September 20, 2017 by crew
In GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, gamers clash with their friends in fast-paced duels that combine bluffing, on-the-fly decision making and careful deck construction.
The game is played over a best-of-three series of rounds, as players unleash their hand by slinging spells and diverse units with special abilities and use clever tricks to deceive their opponents.
There are a number of factions you can play as in Gwent, each with their own specialities and specialist units; Skellige, Northern Realms, Nilfgaardian Empire, Monsters and the Scoia'Tael.
Complete with challenges to help you learn the game basics, ranked mode and casual quick-play there's plenty to keep you busy in the game.
Is GWENT a game you could get into?
Looking forward to watching this. I have played GWENT a few times and won’t pretend to understand it…even though I won.
But, hopefully, this will make it easier haha.
Have you tried elder scrolls legends? I’ve read that Gwent is more skill based and less reliant on RNG than Hearthstone but I, like you, played it a few times without really understanding it. Unfortunately, unlike you, I’ve never won!
I won’t pretend to understand Gwent and I’ve only played a few games against AI so far.
One key aspect of gwent is that you play to win 2 out of 3 rounds and you really need to learn how to say ‘no’.
Rookie mistake : using too many cards in the first round
Yes, you win the battle but you’ll lose the war.
Love playing Gwent. Some of the cards were tweaked and play differently to those used in Witcher 3, but that’s not a big deal, it’s a great game. The next step would be to see Gwent the CCG appear in shops 😀 , that would be so good.
I say this video pop up on my YouTube subscription and thought it was form some one else. I cant what to see what you gays say about my current addition.
I like a card game now and then so I might check this out.
my nick is radegast6 if someone want a game.
I’ve got it downloaded gave it a go last night seems like a relatively simple game but that’s me only having played the basic games 🙂
I played it A LOT in Witcher 3 but not tried the standalone game yet. But based on that version it’s a brilliant game so would definitely be interested in seeing more videos.
