Check Out First Art & Render For Para Bellum’s Conquest
September 8, 2017 by brennon
After we took a look at some artwork earlier in the week for Para Bellum Wargames' Conquest we had a lot of questions on whether or not the models would match up. Well, here we have a look at the Spire Marksman Clone...
...and how this stunning artwork has been transformed into the render that you see below for the miniature.
As you can see they have a couple of different variants already for how the models are going to look and they have managed to bring plenty of what makes the artwork so evocative to life here in the renders. I particularly like the influence of Far Eastern shooting techniques in the design as well as the statuesque feel to them overall.
Watch this space as painted miniature previews are going to be coming down the pipeline soon too!
Fluff Time!
As well as showing off the model they also included some background and fluff on the Spire Marksman Clone for those who are interested.
One of the things that stuck with me from this background is the use of biomass and that effect of magic and technology together in some cases to create these strange creatures. This also gives you some idea of how the rest of the force might look on the tabletop too when you consider the styles of creature they can draw on.
If this is what we have to look forward to when it comes to the peerless shooting of these Clones, imagine how the melee specialists are going to look!
Keep an eye on their Facebook Page for more information too and of course here on Beasts of War.
What do you think of the design?

The artwork’s let down by a slightly silly pose, but otherwise superb. They fixed that in the render and it looks a good deal better.
I think the pose is replicating Japanese archery as their bows have one limb longer than the other and is drawn and released over the head.
Good to know. Thanks for clearing that up.
A strong start. The art is wonderful, and the miniature sculpt looks good. I was half expecting the fluff to be a letdown compared to those, but I was quite impressed and intrigued by that too. Looking forward to seeing more.
i was blown away by the art the other day and while the render is nice it didn’t knock my socks off like the art did. looking forward to seeing more with my fingers crossed.
