Knight Models’ Arkham Guard Keeps The Peace At The Asylum
September 5, 2017 by dracs
Knight Models have previewed the first of Batman's new allies, an Arkham Guard.
This is one of the fine men and women tasked with keeping figures like The Joker under lock and key. A sisyphean task if ever there was one.
The Asylum Guards have always seemed little more than canon fodder in the series. It will be fun to see if they get the chance to redeem themselves on the tabletop.
Would you bring out these guards to face Joker's crew?

Seems to be a cheap and cheerful character for a crew along the lines of the current Contra August clown from the original joker starter crew (i.e., cannon fodder). Which isn’t a bad thing. He can grab objectives and gang up on a knocked down model, but won’t be doing much alone with a strength of 5+, even with heavy and reach. If you have a few points to spare in a larger list he is convenient for that too. It is good to see the upcoming cards are similar enough to the current ones. It gives me confidence the… Read more »
He’s no power house but given who his “Boss” is he doesn’t need to be
It’s a nice touch with the stun damage from the gun, ‘non-lethal force’ which the Bat tends to favour.
It’s good to see henchmen in these crews with low power levels being all around the 25 ish mark. It makes it easy to play a game with starter crews before adding in free agents or hencmen that can cost 50 – 110 or something crazy.
Anyone know the release date in September for the second edition. Always liked the look of the game but had seen mixed reviews on the minis. Second edition looks to have fixed that problem so maybe time to dip my toe in the water. Thanks
Wayland Games has the starter sets up for pre-order, and they are saying 23 days to release. If this is accurate, then we are looking at the end of the month for this.
Not seen any sign of a physical rulebook yet, so I wonder if this will be a download, or if it will follow a similar path to the first edition, with a PDF first, followed by a physical rulebook later on.
Wayland are showing 4 starter sets up for pre-order:
Batman Starter Set
Joker and Clowns Starter Set
Bane and Mercenaries Starter Set
Gotham City Sirens Starter Set
Also they show Nightwing, and a Blackgate Prisoners set.
fabulous figure a great cop for zombie games.
The Batman, Joker and Bane 2nd edition starters (ie the first 3) are available for pre-order at Wayland Games. I do like to support Australian Importers but there is no evidence of pre-orders any where in this part of the world …. waiting in breathless anticipation
………….. and I didn’t read kommisars nested replies above first … *sigh …sorry
