Pre-Orders For River Horses’ The Dark Crystal Board Game Go Live
August 30, 2017 by brennon
River Horse has now opened up pre-orders for their Dark Crystal Board Game which will be released in early 2018. Take a look...
Building on the success they had with Labyrinth, Alessio Cavatore and River Horse is back with a new tale to tell...
"Will Jen and Kira manage to find the Shard and heal the Dark Crystal? Find out in this fun family board game for two to four players based on the classic The Dark Crystal movie by Jim Henson."
It looks like they've managed to pull together the same nice finish to the product as we saw with Labyrinth which made it such a hit and collector's item with many gamers.
We don't know too much about the gameplay right now but it may take a few cues from the Labyrinth board game with a twist here and there. The artwork is truly wonderful though and that board is fantastic.
Do you think you'll be picking this up?

First labyrinth and now the dark crystal, river horse are revisiting my childhood step by step. I hope they avoid revisiting my puberty though.
Do Bushmills do boardgames?. I suppose they do do miniatures though
From the looks of the board and components this game will borrow more than a few bits from the Labyrinth game. Will it be more than a reskin?
I hope you guys can lure in Alessio for an interview and a play through.
Can’t say it rocks my world.
Some might say we are spoilt for choice these days, however, I’d say there is a lot of shit on the market for you to wast your money on at the moment.
well timed they are ment to be making a new film.
Looks lovely… (How have I never managed to get round to watching this film?)
But I wonder if the game play is a bit more engaging than Labyrinth’s?
dark crystal is a real visual treat. Jim Henderson is a master craftsmen.
the box art is taking full advantage, and rightly so.
Gelfling ………
Tempted, very tempted will wait for gameplay as Labyrinth has not had good write ups.
