Combat Squads Come To Support Their Space Marine Brothers Soon

While it is always nice to have more Space Marines, especially Primaris ones, sometimes you need to think tactically. Games Workshop will soon be adding pre-orders for new Combat Squads.
Combat Squads are separated units that you'd normally use when it's required to split your force up a bit to cover more objectives on the tabletop. Currently, they are covering the bases for the Primaris Space Marines with the Intercessors above as well as Reivers and Hellblasters below.
While of course, they have a tactical use they could also be used to bulk up your existing units that you got in Dark Imperium. Having an option to buy less just to add in a few more options to your force seems like a good idea.

As a reminder, you can also soon pick up the Veteran Sergeant that has been designed to mark the 30th Anniversary of Wahammer 40,000.
A lot of folks were confused as to why this was the model of choice but I think it marks a turning point for the idea and look of Space Marines and that's why it's been chosen. It's also subtle enough to simply be dropped into whatever force you might already be working with to become part of a growing army.

All of those look rather good but at same time nothing special.
Always good to be able to buy smaller squads but fed up to the back teeth with Primaris releases now. Lets see something new please GW.
The Veteran Sergeant is definitely one of the most uninteresting models that GW has released for an anniversary bash.
It’s a bit too subtle … and at the same time I’m glad they didn’t add too many skulls & stuff to the thing.
Agreed. There’s almost nothing that differentiates it from a squad piece with a few oaths stuck to it.
I love the reivers face plates if I get any of the Primaris marines they will be the ones.
I’ll be interested in the pricing. Will the 5 man boxes be exactly half price of the 10 man boxes, or a little more? If they are more then that means the 10 man boxes will be like a discount over two 5 man boxes – and GW can’t have that! They should have been 5 man boxes from the start, since there is only 5 man sprues doubled in the 10 man boxes, which feels like let down after the 10 man sprues we’ve been getting for years now. I like the anniversary guy but he is he the same size as the primaris or is he the classical SM size?
Looks MkX armour to me, so it will probably be Primaris sized
The Primaris releases should calm down now. Everything in the Codex is out and the Combat Squad boxes are squad fillers like they did with the 3 Marine box from back in the day.
I like the simpler looks much much more. 40K is drowning in flowing tassels and robes and more than the minimum required numbers of flair to be employee of the month at Chotchkie’s.
Had a look at site, wonder if they will have any of the alt wpns that the 10 man squads have?
