Fireforge Games Prepare for a Mongol Invasion
October 10, 2013 by dracs
The Mongols were, perhaps, one of the mostfeared fighting forces of the ancient world. Now these renowned cavalry fighters are preparing to ride out from Fireforge Games.
These WIP images of Fireforge's upcoming Mongol Heavy Cavalry look to live up to Fireforge's reputation of excellent historical miniatures.
It would be interesting to see the Mongol invasions played out on the tabletop as, in my own experience, it is not a period we see that much in historical gaming.
Are any of you historical gamers tempted to follow in the ways of Genghis Khan?

I have been waiting on these since I saw the 3 ups at salute they looked superb especially the light horse archers. I’ll see if I have some pictures
There are some seriously cool Italians behind FireForge.
I am so waiting for their Persians to come out, eventually. They will cross-breed into WHFB perfectly, as Marauders or something.
No they won’t, a friend of mine bought 3 boxes of the Teutonic cavalry for his Brettonian army. They look minuscule in fornt of the others. They simply do not mix…
As far as the figures, nice, I like them (and they had been missing from the market options too)!
FireForge are True Scale aren’t they?
indeed! picked up a fair bit of there stuff the last 18 months or so, really nice 🙂 I’ve been using the mounted sergeants as Bretonnian yeomen and the foot sergeants as proxies for MaA and Longbowmen. Not fantastic when side to side with GW minis but I’ve justified it by saying ‘well. throughout the Medieval era you’d have squires knocking around in support of their mounted lords’ – teenage Bretonnians with crossbows and maces look cool to me…
