New Synths & Effect Dice Previewed With Fallout Development Blog
August 8, 2017 by brennon
Modiphius ran another Development Blog on Monday talking about the way in which the Effect Dice work in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. This then led to them showing off some previews of the new Synths models too.
The models for these Synths are looking superb and I really like the more hyper Sci-Fi look of them. Of course with the battered and broken bodies, it also fits in nicely with the aesthetic of the rest of the Fallout universe as well.
When it comes to the Effect Dice and how they work, they are rolled alongside your Skill Dice for the checks you make. The Effect Dice then helps to modify your actions and give you extra benefits and mitigate the results you roll.
For example, the Effect Dice might boost your damage or help make your shot more accurate. In some cases, it might also activate special abilities from your weapons and allow them to do powerful or unexpected things to your enemies. The Effect Dice also works away from combat too when you're looking to pick locks or persuade an opponent.
Combined with a range of other modifications that can be added into the game the Effect Dice help to create a granular system which feels as deep as the role-playing game did in the digital realm.
What do you make of the new Synths?
