The Sisters Of Silence Get Their Transport Option From Forge World
July 18, 2017 by brennon
Forge World previewed one of their new vehicles this week, this time for the Sisters Of Silence. If you've been building up a Talons Of The Emperor force this might be on your radar.
This is the Kharon Pattern Acquisitor which looks very strange indeed. If anything this actually looks more like a vehicle from the likes of Stingray or Thunderbirds! The hull at the front does actually close up...
...to protect them from oncoming fire. When it gets to the heart of the battlefield the shield retracts and the Sisters Of Silence leap forth from the front iris (very Stargate) and get to work slaying their foes.
I'm overly undecided on this vehicle. I quite like that it's something completely different, and a skimmer, but the actual shape and form of it doesn't quite hit the nail on the head for me. I think as I've mentioned before, I actually quite like the stocky look of many of the grimdark vehicles.
What do you make of the Kharon Pattern Acquisitor?

I like it, has a real Flash Gordon vibe to it.
Oh my…yes!
Don’t know about Flash Gordon here.
To me this feels like a take on DUNE. Sandworm front and somehow there’s a strong feel of the Navigator tank. Powerful stuff.
The Sisters, too, are quite Dune-like themselves.
Dune imperial shuttle.
Que great cheese movie soundtrack.
That made the model go from okay, to wonderful.
yes.
I really love the aesthetic of this vehicle. For some reason it really appeals to me
Same here. Totally.
That is very pulp sci-fi style vehicle.
I love it. Very different to the brick-like Astartes vehicles. Nice to get a glimpse at some other Imperial designs.
True. Yet still it works fine with the whole Imperial design.
WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE
Yellow….Gold….Same thing…. 😉
It really strikes me as a Buck Rogers vibe, but you really hit it on the head with the Yellow Submarine.
And the 1000 Sons make great Blue Meanies. 😀
It’s very different to other vehicles – I like it
Are there any other Sisters of Silence models besides the ones from Talons of the Emperor for comparison? I like the idea that it’s very different as the Sisters of Silence are pretty much a unique unit in the game (even if there are 3 load outs for them)… So I’d expect something unique to transport them around… but yeah.. not sure if the lack of gothic-ness is good or bad.. also, their color scheme is mostly (entirely) gold.. so with a lot of flat areas on that, will it paint up well in that same scheme?
See it like this: the triangular arching forms are truely more Gothic than those of any other Imperial vessle by far (at least I don’t recall any right now).
😉
The Sisters have different Orders now (their chapter/warband equivilent) so they don’t have to be painted gold. They’ve made them a frontline force again in the fluff.
If this is a troop transport, wouldn’t it make sense to have the iris valve at the back, so the vehicle protects you as you dismount, and you don’t get slaughtered when it opens. Or is there another iris on the back?
Having said that, I like the aesthetic. Huge NMM project if you’re going to paint it gold.
That’s really gorgeous – especially the almost flat black paintscheme I saw elsewhere. I have no use for one but I’d like to build one all the same.
Also does anyone know what the single-headed eagle is about?
Yeah, a single headed eagle with a big eye in the center of the body…
At best, that iconography is 10,000 years out of date.
It’s a boarding torpedo….
is this a gender issue, not only is there a pay gap but the sisters have to get into a second hand boarding torpedo and try to pretend it’s for the best.
Whaka whaka whaka whaka….
Pacman eat them up yum yum!
I’ll definitely get a few of these for my Sisters of silence army, probably my fave imperial vehicle I’ve seen – I dig the retro 60’s SF look a lot.
I think this is an inspired sculpt which has me thinking a lot about what kind of world this would have been created to operate on.
I like it. Yet, don’t like it. Really mixed feelings on this one. Looks more like a submarine to me. Something straight out of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Can’t find any pics of the back. I want to know what the engines looks like or why it has that cut out. I wonder if it is suppose to connect with other vehicles?
Looks a bit like the head of a sand worm from dune when looked at the front on view
