In this episode, Dallas is going to be showing us how to Glaze a model. Glazing can most commonly be mistaken for washes however unlike washing which allows paint to recede into the gaps and crevices of a model, glazing is very thin translucent streaks of paint building up layers of pigment on your model.
How many layers of glaze do you think you need?
My god man. I would have stopped after the first few colours you put on. It looked good even then.
But now, I have to say, that’s even more Brilliant.
Dallas, your good boy.
class act. using the dark blue to shade the red then orange through peach in the highlight to stop it going pink. all brought together with multiple ink glazes to produce a very rich colour. like I said, class act.
I hope you have a years supple of these or i’m very likely going to stamp my feet, fold my arms, stick out my bottom lip and have a proper sulk.
This is one of my favorite recipes to work with. It really shows the value of Inks and the glazing technique.
Dallas travels with Privateer Press to many conventions and paints while he is there. He is available to ask questions and you can watch him paint. If you ever get the opportunity to do so, please take the time. I spent several hours watching him paint and asking questions. I do not regret one second of the time that I spent. He is very open to answering all of your questions and is very patient.
its looking great.
I love watch Dallas paint. That glazing technique is one I have yet to try.
Do eeeet!
Like the others, I am really enjoying Dallas series of tutorials, it is a joy to watch a real artist at work and pick up great hints and techniques. Thanks for these videos please keep them coming!

Looks absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing your techniques and process
Anytime 🙂
Brilliant teaching video on glazing and very well explained. If something ever happens* and I start a Khador army, this video will be one of the first places I look.
* Something that requires me to have a full frontal lobotomy or some other form of brain damage. 😉
Good good let your hate flow through you and give into the red side. I am begining to suspect @beardragon14 this is attention seeking
Attention seeking ……. Me ???? (seeking to bait and sh!t stir possibly … maybe …. it fills in the later hours …… *fake morose sigh* 😀 ) …… thanks for the banter mate , we’ll make a swan out of you yet 😉 )
Always a pleasure mate. Turn me into a swan? in the same way you make an origami swan? by bending it outta shape the twisting it 😀
I think we may find a common love in the new frozen alcoholics on CID @beardragon14
I never thought I would play Cygnar…im painting Trenchers now :/
