More resin ‘Nid spores

Will the rain of alien invasion spores never end?
Puppets Warhas produced this version of what must be GW's most imitated, model that they have never produced.
Perhaps I'm being a little harsh. Puppet Wars do have a number of unique models that I would like for my D&D fantasy games... and their P&P isn't too harsh.
What do you guys think? Is this a cash in or a ploy to get some attention for their own range?

They are fulfilling what the market desires. If GW are too retarded to actually produce models for their ranges then you can expect other companies to create these.
The biggest example in the ‘nid range is the Swarmlord… until they get round to creating new plastic kits for armies such as this, these guys will thrive.
I think kit from these guys is a little over priced however, so your cashing in comment probably is correct.
A lot of the stuff on their site is quite good, the plague bears are quite funny, and the Giants are pretty decent, but most of the rest is a bit off, the robotic and cyborg heads look a bit squashed and the wolf helmets and implant power weapons just seem like bad ideas to begin with. I have to agree completely with @huntraxen on the availability of some stuff from GW, the lack of things such as spore pods from GW or even Forgeworld is pretty short sighted and any time they could have cut anyone who was just… Read more »
It has a real slapped together look on the armor plates. That’s somehting I wouldnt mind on a scratch built fig I bought off some guy, but not on a production model.
We were discussing this last week. If I was launching a new range of minis and I was a small company. The first thing I would do is sculpt something popular (Thunderwolves, ‘Nid Spores etc.). People are searching for them all the time. So it’s free publicity and an easy way to get some google hits. If GW complain (which let’s face it, they probably won’t) I could always just take them down. The main thing is to get some notice taken of your main range. There are guys out there with genuine talent who don’t need to scab a… Read more »
