Let’s Play: A Song of Ice & Fire – Stark Vs Lannisters
June 20, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
Dawn was able to play the amazing new A Song Of Ice & Fire - Stark Vs Lannisters game from CMON and we couldn't wait to show off this upcoming game.
Learn lots more about the mechanics and how it all works on the tabletop in this great demo game from the CMON Expo.
The game is set for a Kickstarter release later this year where you will be able to back the game and get your hands on loads of awesome goodies too.
Which side will you back; the Wolf or the Lion?

Very strong Runewars vibes, looks like more and more companies are trying their hand in this sort of lighter war/board game hybrid.
Looking forward to seeing the kickstarter, CMON got a tendency to go all out with the stretch goals so should be great value
Not really a fan of Fantasy but have read all the GoT the books watched all the GoT TV series, however this is a Fantasy game I could see my household playing. House Stark FTW!
Well I did watch it and felt it was boring.. I`m not a rank and file game, but with those huge bases you was just moving 3 units. once you move into contact you stay and fight, like real life things will get bogged down, but alot of time just moving into contact… but lovely figures and people will use them with any skirmish rules ilke Sigmar to have a move skirmish flow game… hell use test of honour bases,3 figures a base, that 4 bases to each 1… that would look better…… its just the bases was the eye… Read more »
Not sure on this one but I will be keeping an eye on it.
Miniature removal? Why not go with a Hail Ceasar or Impetus approach to that…?
At 107 ish Dawn attacked from the flank but there were no auto hits allocated. I am wondering if those only occur on the first turn the flank happens or on all turns they are flanked? I am interested in what the long range units do and so will keep an eye on this game.
Painted figures and terrain would go a long way grabbing the interest of new player. right now the table look rather boring and if i was walking by that demo it wouldnt hold my attention for long. Even though it a prototype game put some effort in painting miniatures and some terrain that would help the set the stage for future player.
two words, infinitely scalable. wow, we are going to see some truly spectacular things. I know CMON are pushing this one to break into store and competitive play and while it will likely be their strongest candidate to do so, I think it’s in the advertised mass battles where the game will shine. the card mechanic gives the game good depth but its going to make truly enormous battles take some time. worth the pay off though, I meen if you want fast just flip a coin for who wins, but where’s the fun and challenge in that. bring back… Read more »
Look like a nice little game, if I were looking for a game in this area I would on it like a fly on a s…
It sounds like this going to be a Warhammer Fantasy like miniatures game. I am intrigued….
Alternate unit activation just doesn’t work for large games, just takes to long to get through a turn, to much thought time in what unit to activate.
Having seen what Mythic are planning with Joan of Arc, I’d have liked to have seen this presented in a smaller scale such as 15mm making large battles more feasible.
Can I just start off by saying that I have played many, many wargames over more years than I care to remember and fully appreciate that not every game is for every person. I have never read Game of Thrones so have no idea of the background beyond the TV series. i am also aware that this isn’t everything the game has to offer with new units, different characters, new sneak peaks to come. Now that has been said what did I think of the video above. To be honest I was unimpressed. I love the idea of using cards… Read more »
