Thunder Chrome II: 3D Printable Sci-Fi Scenery On Kickstarter
June 16, 2017 by stvitusdancern
There is a Kickstarter campaign currently going on for some new 3D printable terrain based in a Sci-Fi universe called: Thunder Chrome II: 3D printable Sci-Fi scenery for wargames.
It is the second project from the guys at Thunder Chrome. This terrain is modular so that you can create all kinds of buildings and other items of scenery to really dress your game table.
I find this terrain set especially fitting for Infinity. Another nice feature of this terrain is that you can actually open and close the doors and there is also walls that can be "broken" or damaged so you will be able to change up the buildings so you are not stuck with the same thing.
There are three different pledge levels that offer many different options to build an incredible table.
I would be interested to see the files and actual printed samples or print one myself to see the quality of the pieces.
No matter what you think 3D printing is really catching on!
Have you explored 3D printing yet?

looks like a great building set.
3D printing is the way of the future it seems.
Just an aside, apart from a really nice looking product, these guys are really nice people. They are responsive to backers, helpful and supportive of other creators. What Kickstarter is in spirit is, in my experience, what these guys are in person.
This may be the project that gets me into 3D printing.
New Memorable Building stretch Goal has been unlocked.
New stretch goals soon to be announced.

The problem with 3D printing is the affordable printers to the average household produce rubbish quality in junk plastic material compared to what we as hobbyists are used to buying quality miniatures from professional manufactures and artisans. Granted terrain can get away with being less detailed (if you are not as picky as I am ) and great for families where dad has the 3D printer and pump out affordable but less quality prints for kids. The only affordable unit I have seen that comes even close in a SOHO grade machine is the Owlworks Morpheus https://www.morpheus3dprinter.com being a resin… Read more »
