The Mutants Of Modiphius’ Fallout Get Ready For Raiding With New Previews
June 12, 2017 by brennon
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare previews popped up again this week from Modiphius as we got a closer look at the Mutant faction in the game. Here you can see a run down of more of the characters that will be coming to this first faction and they all look brutal and raring for a scrap!
We've not found out much more about the world of Fallout on the tabletop just yet but the models are looking fantastic. I love that we're getting loads of iconic weapons and items showing up as you see each of the different warriors heading to the tabletop.
Whilst I quite like the idea of playing as the Survivors and other Humans out there in the world I think that the Mutants are going to offer up lots more opportunities for interesting paint schemes. I have this thing in my mind right now about loads of warpaint and tattoos on models; if I can get the technique right!
As well as that you're also going to get a chance to practise how you paint rust and battle damage with these wild folk. I'd almost be tempted to paint the first fellow we looked at in this piece as Hulk from the new Thor film...he has something of the alien gladiator about him don't you think?
Mutant Mutts
In addition to the Mutants that you see here we also got to see some of their snarling and bloated Hounds too.
Once again, a great chance to work out how you want to paint skin and bloodied maws I reckon.
One could imagine these dogs being quite the handful when it comes to the game on the tabletop. A few of these racing towards you is bound to put any soldier off his aim.
Talking of aim, it will be fun to see how they implement the VATS system into the game (if at all). What do you think they'll do?
Drop your thoughts below...

I like the miniatures and they tick the boxes, having good detail, being resin and being fairly true to scale from what i can see.
I’m also interested in the game from what it says on the info page, though there’s no information on the rules up yet. Apart from anything else it sounds like a worthy successor to Necromunda.
I agree, from what they said at the ukge, it definitely sounds like it will fill that necromunda gap. Can’t wait for the scenery that people will make for this too
Those Soopy Muties look incredible. Love to see the finished version painted up ready for battle.
I was hoping there would be one holding a mini nuke…. maybe that will be an expansion. It would iradiate a whole 4 by 4 table though 😛
Man, I am really looking forward for this. Especially if it really fills the necromunda gap. I can even imagine some EDEN figures to be used for this game. I am starting to be a big fan of nuclear apocalypse gaming.
But I am still looking for a true successor for mordheim..
I was under the impression that frostgrave was just that but I could be way off. Maybe the 4ground game will be it, the miniatures are gorgeous none the less!
Yeah, frostgrave kinda is, I do love it, but it is more of a beer & pretzel style game.
Mordheim for me had more narrative, where all of your minis gained xp, the loss of a grunt was important too. It is hard to formulate what the issue is, but I think, frostgrave lacks depth.
I am also looking forward for the new setting they are making, the “Lustria” themed variant, it should also have new rules. We’ll see… 🙂
Those do look really good.
Curious thing about the game so far is that it has so many modes and aspects going on. Narrative single player scenarios/campaigns, co-op vs NPC, competitive play, settlement building, crew advancement…. I dunno how it is all going to be covered and what sort of community it will attract.
I do however expect it to look pretty damn cool. The sculpts look great and the games offer a wealth of inspiration for terrain builders to go nuts with.
The more I see of this, the more I want it. I’m pretty excited to get a hold of the rules. The minis are looking pretty incredible.
