New 40mm Vikings Go Raiding From V&V Miniatures
May 27, 2017 by brennon
V&V Miniatures continues to expand upon their Dark Age range with some new 40mm Vikings. Now, they might not be great for your regular wargaming but they do look rather swish!
The collection brings together six different models which are all posed in the midst of battle. I particularly like the fellow with the spear and the warrior down on one knee trying to defend against an attack.
Now, don't be too worried as these models usually end up 28mm scale too.
What do you think?

Very nice. 40mm eh? Those are rather big compared to usual. Then again biggest minis that I have seen are 30mm so that explains why 40mm minis are so surprising for me.
nice.
These are great looking sculpts, and there is already detailing on the shields too which is a nice touch. At 40mm you could get in a lot of work detailing and shading.
As you point out 40mm isn’t exactly ideal for Saga or similar but they would make a great themed encounter for D&D or similar – a band of half-giant raiders from the north sweeping down into more civilised lands and pillaging with impunity…
Kingdom Death human mini’s stand about 40mm, I’ve been looking around at other 40mm mini’s. Good for boardgames with mini’s as you dont need many, but get great detail.
I have a feeling @Warzan will be all over these.
It’s a funny scale however from a purely artistic point of view, they are great models and look like they would be incredibly good fun to paint
These would be perfect for a small figure count skirmish game like Blood Eagle.
Just need some Saxons now…
