Sword and Board Games are showing off the cover for the rulebook of their fantasy game; Twelve Elements of War.

Twelve Elements of War

Sword and Board Games are apparently trying to recreate the "warmth" of classic rule books like the first edition of DnD and Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader, using a rougher, hand drawn art style.

The book will be styled after a traveller's journal, something which should fit the rougher style they are going for. I am particularly interested in this approach as it opens up a cool way for us to experience the world they are creating.

My favourite rule books are probably the 6th edition Dwarf Army book and those for the Dresden Files RPG, both of which are presented in a similar fashion (the dwarf book has its fluff told by a drunken dwarf narrator, while the Dresden Files is interspersed with notes from the characters). So I am rather hopeful for how this book will turn out.
