New Infinity Releases For June 2017 Revealed!
May 23, 2017 by dignity
We're back looking at the world of Infinity as we prepare for June and a new host of releases to get you excited. So, without further ado, we should probably dive in and see what's on offer...
It looks like most of the factions are getting covered this month but we'll start with ALEPH!
300 Point Pack - Steel Phalanx
This is the repacking of a classic ALEPH set. These miniatures work together nicely as a starting point for you dive into the game.
With a range of options open to them, they'd work well as a 300 point force which gives you the edge in a tournament. For one, the box contains the epic Ajax miniatures who is just fantastic.
Caledonian Highlanders Army Starter Pack
In another themed starter set for you to get stuck into we have the Scottish themed sectorial force for this low-tech faction, Ariadna.
Inside you will get six high-quality miniatures, fresh off the line and new this month. We're loving the mix of the antipodes in here, really adding to the feral feel of Ariadna on the tabletop.
Bagh-Mari Unit With HMG
PanOceania is next up with some new additions to the Acontecimentio Shock Army. This Mediu infantry soldier works well within a fireteam as a super effective operative.
You'll get one of these figures inside a pack, armed with one of the most dangerous guns in the Infinity arsenal.
Hassassin Ayyar
We're now turning to the sandy world of Haqqislam as we look at this new model for the Hassassin Bahram.
As a heavy infantry figure, you wouldn't think they'd be a good fit for a group of assassins but sometimes going big is the way forward. The twin viral pistols is a great gunslinging variant and gives him an awesome Wild West feel.
Danavas Hacker & Karkata
We're back with ALEPH as we look at these new troops for the Operations Sub-Section. As part of this upcoming sectorial army, they combine the need for high-tech combat options and awesome robots.
They are specialists units so you'll have to work out your tactics when it comes to using them on the tabletop. I also think they'll create a new challenge for painting ALEPH when it comes to the Hacker.
Ninjas
We now look to another repack of some existing miniatures with these Ninjas for Yu Jing and their Japanese Sectorial Army.
Both of them are posed just how you'd like them to be, crouched low and ready to take out their targets. I prefer the character with the sword personally but it's nice that you have various options. Any good assassin is always prepared!
Zeroes
Last but not least we turn our attention to the Nomads and their Bakunin Jurisdictional Command. This pair of skirmishers offers up a Hacker and another character armed with his Combi-Rifle.
You could easily use these miniatures as part of your role-playing games in Infinity too. They have the look of characters that need a backstory!
What will you be picking up?
A really solid month tbh. In, particular, I really like the Hassassin Ayyar in particular (I know last year was supposed to be all about Yu Jing, but Haqq have gotten some great stuff as well). The Ninjas have aged well, as has the Hacker Zero, but I’m not really sure about the 2nd one with a combi rifle (I think I preferred the female one with the EMauler that now seems to be unavailable outside of the old Bakunin Jurisdictional Force Starter Pack). I had actually hoped with Bakunin supposedly getting a focus, that we might see new Zero… Read more »
Only the Zeros and the 300point pack won’t go on the buy me now list – mainly as I already have 3 or 4 Zero and a sizeable Aleph force
man do I love infinity. talk about kid in a sweet shop. Caledonian highlanders, hard as nails. amazing models and the paint job is phenomenal. need to get me some of that. Hassassin Ayyar is a fantastic looking model. dynamic, cool and spot on flavour wise. The new danavas hacker and karkata ? nice. adore the skin tone on the hacker, scifi beautiful and scary all at the same time this one, as she should be. Bagh-mari HMG is looking solid. the repacks are holding up pretty well. especially the ninja hacker, love this guy. big fan of the army… Read more »
I like the Hassasin, the Caledonian Starter, the 300 points Steel Phalanx box and the Danavas HAcker and her bot.
Oh, my effin’ something! Could this really be a real, hard ‘n’ solid sign of one of the *so* awaited sectorials? Might Vedic Aleph truely be almost near the horizon at last?
And White Banner Army aka Huang Di and E.I. Combined Army, too?
*almost freak out*
The repacks are a bit underwhelming though. I mean, they sure were (and in some ways still are) quite nice, but, come on, they do deserve new sculpts. At the very least updated weaponry.
The repackaging is not for the fans, but for the retailers who need to stock less codes.
CB can only release so many new things each month, and the Zeros and Ninjas are not the worse that are left.
The Hassassin and the ninjas are the units that stick out to me Looking to get into Yujing and Haqqislam and they will be welcome additions
Danavas Hacker & Karkata look amazing ! ! !
The thing I like most is Caledonian starter. I know this might come off wrong but I will say it. I’m glad most of them are men. I wish they where all men. After all the theme is men in kilts not ladies in skirts.
That isn’t (i.e. Men in skirts) Caledonian’s theme at all, although they are heavily influenced by Scottish culture. There’s plenty of male models in infinity already, while conversely, it seems to be a coin flip with regards to whether CB will make a female model wearing a questionable outfit or not (compare the clothing of the female TAG pilots vs the male TAG pilots). Female representation (that is worthwhile) is relatively poor across the board (not just Infinity, although it is extremely frustrating that there seems to be equal steps forwards and back when it comes to female sculpts from… Read more »
All of this I second.
And in this case it a lassie in trousers, and lads in skirts
