Mythic Games Shows Off Stunning 15mm Mini For Joan of Arc
May 22, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
Mythic Games is more formally tipping their hat for their upcoming, 15mm, Time of Legends: Joan of Arc game.
We got a few teaser images a while back, but now they're sharing images of the highly detailed 15mm minis we can expect as well as offering some insight into the characters and the way the game plays. First up is The Black Prince.
Edward of Woodstock, aka the Black Prince, son of King Edward III of England, is one of the heroes of the English army and a major character in the game. He is a strong commander who inspires fear both among his enemies and his own troops.
His attack, defence, and life points may be average, but he remains an extremely useful leader thanks to his numerous advantages.
An excellent tactician, for example, he can transform one cube of activation into a cube of interruption, which increases your possibilities to counteract the actions of your opponent. He also draws one more card in the river, increasing the choices offered to him at each turn.
He is a Leader of men, he is able to rally his troops or to boost the movement of his army's cavalry.
And finally, he inspires terror to his enemies, automatically destroying the units he demoralises. Pitiless, the Black Prince does not make prisoners, he executes them.
What do you think of detail they've captured in this 15mm mini?
"Edward of Woodstock, aka the Black Prince, son of King Edward III of England, is one of the heroes of the English army..."
I think this one will be my next big Kickstarter…..
That’s 15mm?? Holy crap
That looks great.
The best looking 15mm I have ever seen – Leo had these on his FB page and I could not believe the scale
Didn’t hear about this, but seen the pics the minis look incredible for 15 mm.
First the minis look amazing.
I wish they wouldn’t call it a historical game though, The Black Prince and Joan of Arc were not contemporaries, The Black Prince died 1376 and Joan wasn’t born until 1412. Also the description of Edward is very counter his actual personality, taking prisoners and being very friendly toward them, not pitiless. This is all ok if they are making a fantasy re-imagining of the 100 year war, but dressing it up as historical is kind of wrong.
I’d be very surprised if they aren’t going to jazz up Joan of Arc beyond her historical role, make her ore of a kick-ass soldier and tactician and less of a good luck charm. Probably best just to go with it and let it flow over us…
They’re not pitching it as an historical game, rather as a fantasy game grounded in history and in which you can use it to play historical battles if you want. “Joan of Arc takes place during the 100 years’ war, a medieval world of wars, conspiracies and betrayals, where myths mingle with reality. All the beliefs of this period are real : witches, werewolves, ghosts, dragons, demons, angels, … It gives this universe a very unique atmosphere, that you could describe as a midway between Game of Thrones and Warhammer. The Game of Thrones reference is not very surprising, as… Read more »
That is very impressive for 15mm. And a brilliant paint job.
Um- is Joan of Arc wearing Boob Plate armor?
