Blacksmith’s Teased By Steamforged For Guild Ball
May 14, 2017 by brennon
Steamforged Games have teased a new faction for the world of Guild Ball this weekend with all eyes turning to the newcomers, the Blacksmith's Guild. Two character cards were shown off for Anvil...
...and Sledge. This faction might end up being the one that draws me into the world of Guild Ball. One of the things they've tried to work into this faction is the idea of there being a Master and an Apprentice who complement each other on the field of play as they would in the forge.
You'll be able to find out more about them on the link above where they discuss some of their unique abilities and go into the cards in more detail. We'll leave that to more tactical minds to understand.
What do you think of the Blacksmith's Guild so far?

Oh man .. Oh man … Oh man …. *stops self ….. oh this will be such a cool Guild…….*pull yourself together man you are coming across all fanboy ……*coughs………
Yes Ben, these certainly look interesting. I believe that I shall take a closer look at this guild when they are released. *maintains composure and walks from the room
*safely in next room *squeals … how cool were they?
This will be awesome ! 😀
You lucky GenCon attendees will be able to buy the Blacksmiths months before they hit retail 🙂
Considering this game uses medieval guilds as a core feature this team is a logical result.
It does make me wonder if we can predict which guilds may still appear in the future …
Any chance of a thieves guild appearing ? (although the Union might qualify for that bit already)
Or the mercantile guild ?
The game designers have said they have a list of about a dozen ‘likely to appear’ guilds (if the game goes for enough years) but they have a long list of closer to 25-30 guilds if needed… lol… the coolest part IMHO is that these new Guild (Farmers, Blacksmiths, even Hunters from Season 2) all have some unique mechanics and themed play which all seem great!
waiting for my kick off box to arrive, c’mon postman row that damn boat faster!
Same here. I was waiting for UKGE but had to pull the trigger and order online 🙂 I hope that the Farmers and Blacksmiths will be available as plastic full team expansions this year.
Here are two pics of two of the new miniatures for the Blacksmiths Guild from FB, shooted at the Vengeance event in the UK this weekend :)!

Vengeance can of course be seen right now as I type on the front page of Beasts of War 🙂
Thank you mate !
I just got my Heralds of the Winters Moon Starter and I love the Minis.
Sadly there is a lot of stepping from the 3D masters to be found on them but they still are lovely.
Had a missing part in my starter though, Ulfrs head wasnt in it, contacted them to solve the issue and still waiting for reply.
Thank you for sharing @formrian , they look fantastic.
all looking awesome
I always hoped we see a Blacksmiths Guild!
*we’d. Gah!
wonder what the team will end up looking like?, probably a row of gruff adrian smith art looking fellows.
I make no secret of my utter fan boyism to Steamforged, these look great and again keeping the idea that a guild needs to be different on the table as well as visually. Sculpts are great as well. For the first time ever I find myself wanting a Gencon Ninja
Bah, another guild that looks fun… So on to guild number three when they come out.
All Guilds are good in some sense, bad in some sense, and average in some sense…. 🙂
They look great, but I only got into GB after the GB Week here on BoW so other guilds will come first.
Just got the Kickoff set for my birthday. Really looking forward to a game. If the Blacksmith and Farmer guild come in plastic as a whole 6 man team I will definitely be interested. The Hunters and the Fishermen were my first targets once I the kick off box guilds start to lose their sparkle. The old style of a 3 miniature “starter” set seems to be a little awkward, because you can’t play a regular game with just 3 players aside. Starter seems a stretch of the term. The 6 player sets due in June seem like a better… Read more »
They said at their keynote last November that beginning with the Farmers, all new guilds will be in pre-assembled plastic, and come with a full team of six minis in the box, with a four-mini boxed expansion later to bring them up to ten.
