We're back with another round of Community Spotlight picks for you as we detail three more projects that caught our eye from the Hobby & Painting Forum here on Beasts Of War.

This time around we've got a mix of Terrain making, the Historical and a smidge of Warhammer 40,000 in there too since it's in vogue right now!

Foam Terrain by dane001

Inspired by Lloyd's work on some amazing Pirate islands for Blood & Plunder dane001 wanted to make some of his own islands for his gaming club.

He used lots of the techniques that are covered in Hobby Lab and designed up some fantastic looking islands which would be perfect for your crews to battle across. The vibrant green really stands out on the tabletop, especially against the darker sea.

dane001 has also been working on another foam terrain project where he built this Jungle Cliff which he imagines Skaven and Seraphon (Lizardmen) clambering about on.

This material is really proving to be a viable product for sculpting up some impressive structures and the best thing is that they are pretty indestructible it seems. Take a look at some more of the detail down below.

With a few patches of vegetation and some imaginative use of basing materials, you can create some very realistic looking terrain on the cheap. It's awesome to see the techniques being used so well away from the studio!

Hanoverian Landwehr by andreas1990

We now turn our attention to a unit that was painted up by andreas1990, the Hanoverian Landwehr.

This Napoleonic set looks fantastic and there's a great amount of detail worked into their uniforms. They have really come together as a unit and you get that nice regimented feel from their design. Match that with some simple but effective basing that doesn't take away from the unit and you've got one worth taking another look at.

I really like the flag designs as well from what we can see here, always a key part of these units during the period and indeed during wargaming. Hopefully, we'll see more from andreas1990 over the coming weeks as this regiment grows.

40k Orks by svboel

We're big fans of the Army Painter method and it really does mean that you can paint up some armies very quickly. Community member svboel has been using that technique to get stuck into his Orks for Warhammer 40,000.

Using a production line method and working on using some strong base colours he was able to get a lot of his miniatures painted up in quick fashion. Here's one of the finished miniatures below.

As you can see the use of the likes of dip and washes has really tied all of the different colours together that were used and given them a real depth. It has worked wonders on the modern camouflage designs on the Orks trousers and across the darker skin of the Ork too.

I really like what svboel has done with the leather, wrappings and the metal too. This is a really nice scheme and we can't wait to see what svboel does with the rest of his army.
