Stuff like this makes the Backstage pass so worth it! 😀
couldnt agree more!
You know, right now it looks a little like a viking fjord with a village and icebergs, in this blue… a little paint, a few blades of grass, and we’re all set for an invasion of Skraelings or White Walkers !
Dry brush white and it should be iceberg ready. 🙂
Awesome guys, really excited to see the next steps!! Youve definitely inspired me to do similar stuff!
Very cool, shame you couldn’t have saved this for the next hobby night hehe. It is looking great, I am looking forward to seeing the next video guys. @lloyd Bens not there this time for you to try and launch things into his eyes. For these types of ports weren’t there often gun positions on the high ground to ward off pirates and unfriendly nations and is that something you are thinking of adding? @johnlyons am I right in thinking you have a tank t-shirt on under a tank hoodie? Will you be putting any smaller scenery on the decks… Read more »
You are right about the T-shirt 🙂 I think we have some set on barrels and such that would look great on them. Maybe at a later date I would totally make some cannon balls and other bits 🙂
Yes a few guns placed on top the cliff, the fort in black sails being a reference
A light tower would fit nice on this table.
The cave looks great.
Guys, that’s my favorite tv series now! Can’t wait for the next episode!
Sincerely, you’re making a wonderful job. I’ve done myself some cliffs and rocks with your tutorials, and it’s just perfect! (https://www.facebook.com/VortexZoneStudio/posts/421390664864364?notif_t=like¬if_id=1493765427285651)
Good luck for the painting session, it should be a very long step!
Wow. They look great.
Great stuff here!
A little cave back inside your tunnel would make an awesome area for a pirate treasure only accessible by rowboat!
Plucking the giant’s organ. Isn’t that more Justin’s area? 😮
I think that would be the cutting of the organ.
@lloyd seems to favour the plucking … 😉
Great work there guys. Watching the various pieces made with the furniture foam keeps making me want to go and get some to make some hills/cliffs etc with!
Love the foam terrain, the pirate island idea is great!
This is looking better by the minute. I like how you combine all these different source materials: foam, Deepcut mat, Hirst arts casts, Firelock ships, 4ground buildings.
The ships look wonderful by the way. Too bad they are quite hard to get in Europe, or way too expensive. I thought of backing the previous kickstarter, but decided against it when I noticed the shipping costs.
You should carve a skull shape into one of the cliff faces.
I was thinking that the separate rock which is going to be accessable by the rope bridge should’ve been sculpted to look like a skull; a mini skull island.
ahhhhhh bad noise! stop the bad noise! *shudder*
I agree, the ships look great!
I agree, they are a little difficult to get hold of here for a reasonable amount of ££ 🙁
Looking forward to seeing more tomorrow 😎
You could even make a couple of sharp rock formations to put around the cove. They could even double as terrain to make ship combat more dynamic.
@lloyd if you could place a little battery operated tea light (flicker lights) around the bend in the cave you might get the effect of torches in the cave. You’d probably also be able to see the bend a bit better too. Hopefully that make sense.
This right here! A yellow LED. 🙂 Probably too late, but that is a very BoW hobby idea!
Arrr this hobbying is distracting me from hobbying! ‘Tis a fine bit of work though…..Arrr!
@lloyd If you are brave enough…

Could use some Walking dead zombies or similar? Would look cool trussed up on that cliff edge as a warning to other Pirates.
Doh! cant post pics on videos… try this link:

@lloyd keep in mind when building this it could also be used for Pacific theater games of Bolt Action and Konflict 47. While I love your BA content, all of your WW2 tables tend to look like Normandy France. There are a lot more areas to explore in WW2.
Love those Vlogs, so inspiring! Only hate some of the sounds xD
It’s coming great, this table. And the painting of the ships is gorgeous!
Great project guys! I allways love the building a table video’s (Y)
I would love to have table like this at club ! @stusidle
@lloyd .
Lloyd, when you create one of these game-specific terrain boards, do you read the rules for the game and make it appropriate for the rules? or
Do you follow “the rule of cool” more: get the concept for the game and then make a table that is awesome for that concept, whilst adding concessions for the rules?
Also on ships and boat another way to determine
Ships are vessels large enough to warrant permanent crew and an assigned commanding officer.
Boats at craft that are too small to warrant fixed crew and an assigned commanding officer and are only crewed as needed.
Where it breaks down is with Submarines, which are called boats despite having permanently assigned crew and an assigned commanding officer, and also carrying smaller crafts
Although in the age of sail a ship had at least 3 masts, so those 2 pirate ships you have are technically Boats
That rigging looks so hard to do. Will John be shouting Frigging Rigging as he is doing it ?????
