April 30, 2017 by brennon
Warlord Games has put together another plastic kit for your Bolt Action armies and the Imperial Japanese. They now have a Chi-Ha Medium Tank with a whole bunch of extras...
Inside the set you get...
- Enough plastic components to make one Chi-Ha or the up-gunned Type 97-Kai Shinhoto Chi-Ha
- Damage markers
- Full-colour waterslide decal sheet
- A Bolt Action stat card
- A detailed booklet describing how to build and paint your Chi-Ha
...and if you're interested in some of the variants you can see them below.
This tank was the second most produced in the Japanese Army and it was outfitted with all manner of interesting options for use on the field of battle.
Despite what you might think it does have the capability to act as a good anti-tank vehicle and can hold its own too. As you're doing some island hopping maybe this might feature as part of your collection.
What do you make of the Chi-Ha?

That tank does looks rather good.
Was this the tank in The Pacific where they are trying to take the airfield ? I always thought that was a Chi-Ha but now I’m not so sure
The tanks in that episode were the diminutive Ha-Go. They had a running example which was particularly impressive.
I’d recommend Zaloga’s Osprey Duel book on this tank versus the M4, really interesting stuff.
Looks a nice model. My get one for my Jap’s
looks a great model.
The Chi Ha is especially useful in game as it has a light howitzer and it’s small size makes it easier to get behind cover.
I’ve not used a Shinhoto but it does have a medium antitank gun albeit on a light tank chassis. Could certainly take on a Sherman if it can get first shot.
