Get Started In Mantic’s Warpath With New Starter Sets
April 20, 2017 by brennon
If the Sci-Fi world of Mantic's Warpath is getting you excited then you'll want an army to command. Thankfully there are four Starter Force sets that you can snap up as pre-orders now ahead of their release on May 19th.
The four main forces for the game have been covered with the Enforcers (shown above) and the Forge Fathers being two of the sets that I'm personally interested in. Of course, I enjoy the look of Space Dwarves but there's something to be said for the Cerberus-style armour of the Enforcers (told you I'd been playing too much Mass Effect).
If you prefer something a little more alien in style then you also have the scurrying Veer-Myn who come with some monstrous creatures wielding mining implements that have been twisted towards a different end.
Taking a different spin on Elves in space we also have the Asterians here who fight alongside ranked units of robotic infantry.
Of course, this isn't everything that's on the way for Warpath and you can check out their webstore for some of their deals and more. Make sure to check out The Weekender this coming Saturday as well as we have an interview with Mantic about the different ways you can play the game.
What faction do you like the look of?

Those are tempting. I must resist getting even one of those.
Lots of warpath goodness going on now, I’m making a start on my veermyn.
And Salute, to get more!
Have played some Warpath and thing to works better in 15mm over 28mm
Thing=seems
Because 15mm (or smaller) is the scale that best represents larger forces while still leaving room for meaningful tactical choices on a reasonably sized table.
But muh 28mm…
Seriously though, had they produced some nice 15mm miniatures I’d probably have been more interested in this.
I have one unit to paint on my current Forge Father army, After that I will be getting the Forge father starter to bolster it . Warpath plays really well and I want to have agame with large numbers of Infantr just to see how it runs ( I can’t imagine that it will take as long as the 40k armageddon game i got roped into once ….there’s 14 hours of my life that i will never get back)
If I ever get time there is a ton of this to assemble and paint
great starter sets.

Online review I found for the Forgefathers. Take from it what you will.
With respect, I won’t be taking much from it I have assembled exactly the same kit 4 times already, and didn’t find any of those problems.
This leads me to several possible conclusions 1) this bloke is a worse hobby-ist than myself (highly unlikely) 2) he had a really, really bad kit or 3) he has an axe to grind unrelated to this kit
Really like the look of the Forge Fathers but can’t justify how expensive they are for the quality. I can buy the same number of GW minis for not much more money and get nicer kits that assemble more easily.
How many of the new Forge Father kits have you built?
I got the pre release £100 set with the Forge Fathers and Enforcers. They are in the queue but looking forward to getting them up and running and adding some vehicles!!
@warzen I would like to get the Enforcers and Asterian faction Starter packs. Loving Mantic and these forces. Would like to know more… How does the new warpath rules play the actual mass batte game version.
As a recent convert to Mantic’s Deadzone 2.0 I have been very impressed with the miniature quality / quantity for price point. Have pre-ordered the Operation Heracles Two-Player Mega Battle Set $160 AUD to extend both our current Enforcers and Forge Father armies into Warpath.
