Compete To Be Top Dog In The Warmahordes London Masters
September 20, 2013 by brennon
Coming on the weekend of the 26th and the 27th of October Tabletop Nation is going to be playing host to the Warmahordes London Masters! Check out some of the details for this competition below...
The competition will consist of seven fifty point battles spread out over the two days. You will be using chess clocks to keep everything timed and tense with each of you allocated sixty minutes per round.
You will not be required to have a fully painted army so that's a bonus if you have fallen behind on your hobby chores! Of course a nicely painted army is a bonus so if you do have one make sure to field it.
The trophy has already arrived at Tabletop Nation and it's quite a massive piece of mantlepiece material isn't it! Better than those shards of perspex and glass you get for winning a TV award that's for sure.
As well as the glorious trophy you could always win prizes from a range of companies including...

...and

who are making some very nice templates indeed.
Check out the Masters Rule Pack and the Event listing to get yourself a ticket for this event. It's certainly a different beast from a Journeyman League but well worth competing in!
Chat about it on the forums too!
Do you think you have the grit for this?

Damn I wish I could play in this 🙁
I just have to run the thing 😀
Seriously please come along and enjoy the event no matter your ability, 7 games, good fun lots of people/players to chat to and pick up tips and trick and prizes and goodies for all – whats not to like?
if i had the days free i’d be down with some of my fellow club members! as much to meet people as to try and win (considering tey both trounce me every game i doubt i’d do well but eh) for anyone going watch out for terry and scott 🙂
That’s a mighty impressive trophy.
I hope it’s a serious tournament, with wins outweighing any other factor towards overall victory..
Unlike recent GW tourneys my friends attended, where wearing a stupid costume can actually award you more VP’s than a solidly played army list.
Masters is a very serious format, as with all Privateer Press steamrollers, there are no soft scores, just what happens on the table ( and no stupid tie breaks, like who has the prettiest list…)
Serious? Yawn. People forget its a sodding game. Pretty lists, dressing up, its all just to have a bit of fun at the end of the day. As soon as you got people having panic attacks over a dice roll, i walk away. Each to his own though.
@ deaddave Nothing ruins fun faster than bad rules.
Let the format be serious so that the games may be fun and free of the usual tournament debauchery.
You CAN have fun with bad rules. All you need is fun mates to make fun of the bad rules. You’ll be surprised at how fun it can be 😉
I’ll be in London that weekend but I already got plans for the sunday
wrong country :´(
Difficult to run the London Masters in a different country unless you have easy access to Christmas Island or the colonies!
Plus Southend Airport has excellent connections to Europe.
While some might say an event that results are based on pure results not “soft scores” or dressing up is taking things too serious I do run events aimed for all types and styles of games. The Masters for example is to see who is the best player on the weekend. I’ve done others where it’s tier events and book releases. I’m planning to do a food machine one (which involves donating food for charity to allow cheats) or a fully painted only event. So if you just want to play for fun please do and in a month or… Read more »
Seriously, Watching some piss willy loosing his lunch over a bad tactic or dice roll on his part. Is in reality really fun to watch. Lets not be a hater nerd rage is also a vital part of war gaming. We have three guys at our LGS who are veterans at getting angry when they get there butts kicked on the game table. They have there own fan club for crying out loud. IE people who just come to watch them argue over how tall a soldier is in comparison to line of sight ETC… Every one here who has… Read more »
And another company is helping me. Those nice guys at KR Multicase are giving me some cases for you guys to try and win. I love their stuff as the soft foam doesn’t scratch the paintwork much.
